Aro's Mate

Chapter Fourteen

We walk out of the castle hand in hand, it feels amazing outside. The weather is perfect.

"So where are we going?" I ask as we are walking down the street.

"To a nice restaurant, I have a reservation."

"Sounds perfect, I'm starving." He squeezes my hand.

"That neck of yours is making me a bit hungry too." He says with a smirk.

"Hey careful, I can scream quite loud." I stick my tongue out at him.

"Oh I believe you, don't worry." He laughs and we continue to walk, Volterra is so pretty at night.

We arrive at the restaurant and Aro tells them his name, they walk us to a table outside that looks over the water, its beautiful. We sit down and they bring me water and Aro orders for me.

"I ordered something I know you will like, their menu can be kind of overwhelming I hope you don't mind."

"Normally a woman would be offended having her man order for her, but I'll let it slide." I smile and the waiter brings me a drink I'm guessing Aro ordered for me.

"That is a white wine I thought you'd like, I hope you don't mind alcohol."

"Not at all!" I take a sip and it's perfect, I take a few more sips to show that I like it and I can tell Aro is satisfied.

"So I never asked your preference, would you like to be turned after your birthday or after the wedding? It is up to you."

"I think I should get turned the night of my birthday so that we can be married as vampires, I think that makes the most sense to me." Aro gets a big smile.

"That sounds just perfect, I am quite excited if you can't tell." I laugh

"For what part? Turning me or marrying me?" I tease.

"Well of course marrying you, but turning you is also a small part of the excitement."

I reach across the table and grab his hand in mine. Never did I think this is what my life would come to, but here I am.

"I love you, Aro." He squeezes my hand.

"I love you for eternity, my lovely Amelia." I get butterflies at his words and blush.

With that my food comes, it is a plate of pasta with chicken from what I can see, but I'm not sure what the sauce is. I take a bite and it tastes absolutely amazing, there are so many herbs and spices that just make it perfect.

"This tastes amazing, thank you for choosing it for me. How did you know it would be good? You haven't eaten human food in literally forever."

"There are some things I just know, don't question my ways." He chuckles and I roll my eyes and smile.

I finish my glass of wine and another glass is immediately poured. I keep eating and Aro just watches me.

"Do the waiters not think it's weird that you aren't eating?"

"They have learned to not question it, and the owner of this restaurant is a good friend of ours, he knows about us." I nod and just continue eating and drinking the wine.

"Have there been any other covens concerned about you and me?"

"There haven't thank goodness, but we have an official count for the wedding! Three of our most loyal covens will be coming, the one you met from Canada, one from Rome, and one from Forks, Washington, one of my closest friends Carlisle is in that coven, I'm really looking forward to you meeting him and the others."
