The Princess

-KAEDES POV-
I've lived in a castle for as long as I can remember! I grew up in a royal family. I've been a princess all my life! It's pretty fun, and I'm so grateful. Sometimes I wish I could have some more freedom though, and go out to explore. Oh well, I guess not everything is perfect. But sometimes, my mother takes me out to visit the village. That's always very fun! To see the different people, and to interact with them!

"Kaede, Sweetie. Come eat" I hear my mother call for me. I get myself ready for dinner and go downstairs. I see my family sitting at the diner table. My butler, his name is Shuichi, is standing next to my chair.

"Hi shu!" I greet him with a smile. As soon as he sees me his eyes light up.
"Good Morning, Princess Akamatsu." He says in response.
"You don't have to call me that silly! Just call me Kaede!" I reassure him, taking my seat at the table. My Father looks at me with disappointment, as always. I just stay quiet and eat my food. If I ever speak at the table, I'll immediately be told to shut up. I guess my opinions don't matter since I'm a teenager.
"Girls, have you noticed any of your stuff going missing recently?" My mother asks. Hm. Yeah- I have seen a few of my stuff going missing- like I can't find my red dress anywhere! Or my silver crown!

"Yes, Mother. My jewel necklace has gone missing." My younger sister answers. So, it isn't just me?

"Mine has too! My red dress and silver crown!" I say.

"I think that thief has gotten to our castle." My father states. A thief?

"What do you mean?" My mother asks.

"Haven't you heard? It's all around the kingdom. The famous thief. They have a group, I forgot their name, but they always wear these clown masks. They look like such idiots, but their very smart." My father explains. Oh! I did hear about that! Apparently, the group has a leader, and they have been stealing from everyone! Even our guards can't catch them!

"Oh dear. We will have to lock up better then." My mother answers. I continue to eat my food as always. It's delicious. Our chef is probably the best chef in the country! Chef TeruTeru! I finally finish my food, and walk with Shuichi to my room.

"I wonder who that thief is. Our what their groups called?" I ask him.

"Thieves of the Night is their name. Since, they only are seen during the night. But another name for them is D.I.C.E" He answers. Dice? What a interesting name!

"Hmm." I say, rubbing my chin. We finally arrive at my room.

"Thank you for walking me Shuichi!" I say, kissing his cheek. I see him hide his blush. Me and him are best friends! We've known each other since we were little! I walk into my room and shut the door. Finally. Another Day over. I change out of my dining dress and into my nightgown. I brush my hair and tie it up in a ribbon. I finally get into my bed, and stare up at ceiling. I wish for one day, my parents would let me love outside of this castle. It gets lonely up here. Being stuck in this building all day. I toss and turn before I finally shut my eyes. What a mistake that was, forgetting my balcony doors were open...

*TIME SKIP BECAUSE UH UH NOBODY SHIPS THIS EXCEPT LIKE ME AND THREE PEOPLE*

I wake up to the sound of something crashing. Huh?! What was that?! I sit up in my bed, catching an glowing eye of someone in the dark. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT- I scream, pulling the covers back and grabbing my nearest object. Which happens to me my brush.

"GET OUT! GET OUT OF HERE!" I say, swinging the brush into the air. I watch as the shadow flows across my room. There's no way I'm letting them get away with this! I sprint towards the shadow, and use all my power to knock it over. I end up landing on the ground, but it's soft, because I'm on top of someone. I meet eyes with them.... the thief of the night.
