"Never fret my dear, for this rose will never wilt. Neverless my love for you shant either!"
"What the heck type of language is that, Jaden?" I laugh out.
"Wh-It's Shakespeare!" Jaden exclaims.
"Yeah last I checked Shakespeare was holding a skull, not a rose."
"Whatever, just take my rose," he sighs. "The message still is true though. My love for you will survive as long as this rose does. It will never wilt."
I take the "rose" from his hand, automatically feeling it's plasticity.
"That is so corny of you," I say through my smile.

"Ahh. Damnit!" My finger accidentally opening a wound on my face. I sigh, placing my weight onto the sink. 'Who would've thought that the love of my life would cause me such pain.'I scan over the multiple scars on my arms and legs. 'It's out of love though...isn't it?'
The plastic rose catches the corner of my eye, my head turning to stare at it longingly. In it's shiny reflection, I'm reminded of the nice and romantic moments shared between me and Jaden. I smile, 'it has to be out of love. The rose hasn't wilted yet...'
"GRAB ME A BEER! I'M THIRSTY AND THE GUYS ARE COMING OVER SOON!"
Shaken out of my reminiscing state, I exit the bathroom full expecting the wrath to come.
———————————————————————————
"Jaden, how could you..." I stand there in disbelief as I see a...a...HOOKER hanging onto him, tears brimming my eyes."You weren't satisfying me enough. You've been out too much so what else was I supposed to do?"
My eyes pool with more tears, some falling down my face. Anger and sadness boils up inside of me.
"I'm out more because our rent is 5 months overdue and I have to work hard after you got fired! I'm tired everyday from doing my job! At least I have one! And then I-I come home to find you with some...some...slut hanging on you!" The tears are fully streaming down now and I'm on the brink of breaking down. His face shifts from numb to anger.
"At least she's able to satisfy her man. All you do is whine and complain like a bitch in heat!" His face is now red with emotion.
"I wish you never entered my life! Maybe I wouldn't have felt obliged to stay with your ass if you hadn't of been so hung up on getting my attention! I wish you had died that day! I wish I never saved you!" His face stares in shock after what he had said as if he hadn't meant to let those thoughts reach me but then his face shifted back to his stone cold look.
My body had stopped all functionality. My tears stopped streaming and my heart had stopped hurting. I just felt...
Numb
Before I could retaliate back, not that I had the strength to do it, he walked away torwards our-no-his bedroom and it wasn't long before grunts and moans were heard. All I could do was stand there numb.
Gathering up my strength, I walked back over to the bathroom. My safe haven, the only room with a lock. Sitting down on the tiled floor, I just wallowed in my self pity, attempting to ignore the sounds of me losing the only one I had loved.
Once again, the rose catches my attention. The rose that was given to me the day of our 3rd anniversary. The day I was proposed to and given sweet nothings about how much he wanted to marry me. My sadness returns, further widening the hole in my heart.
"'My love will never wilt, just like this rose.' Isn't that what you told me...?"
I sigh grabbing the rose, cradling it like it was my world. All the memories of our life together hit me at once, the happy and the sad. A couple deep breaths taken and my panic attack calms down. With one final deep breath...I take the rose in my hand...
And I crush it.
The feeling of the plastic crumbling between my fingers erases everything. All the pain, all the suffering. I just feel nothing. Opening my eyes, I watch as the pieces fall through my fingers and onto the floor. The grunts and moans fading into the distance. Finally free from my prison, from the promise I held onto for life, from the rose that never wilts.
