"Did everyone turn their parchments in?" Snape demanded as he scanned the room. "If you failed to do this assignment, you might as well stop wasting your efforts in my class. You can consider yourself failures."

A few sighs came from the classroom.

Seraphina exhaled in relief. At least she wasn't one of them.

She looked to her right and saw Draco. He caught her gaze and smirked at her. She shook her head but smiled and looked forward again.

"Class dismissed," Snape said.

Chairs squeaked as everyone hastened to escape his presence.

"Seraphina," someone called from behind. She spun around to come face-to-face with Draco. "Yeah?"

"I believe you owe me." "What?"

"I did most of the potions project." "Oh my god, Draco. You make it sound like I did nothing."

"You slept."

"I-" She stopped and looked upwards in thought. She wasn't the type to argue what wasn't true.

Draco smirked, and Seraphina sighed, "Okay, I won't deny that. Anyways... thanks. So what do you want me to do for you? Charms essay? Herbology homework? I'm pretty good at Defense Against the Dark Arts, too." She clucked her tongue and looked up at him.

Draco tilted his head and smiled at her. "Want to hang out later?"

"...Excuse me?"

"It was a simple question." He shrugged nonchalantly, but he wouldn't meet her eyes, and she knew this was awkward for him too.

"Do you like wizard's chess?"

"You play wizard's chess?" She raised an eyebrow in amusement. "I hope you know Ron is the king of that."

Draco rolled his eyes. "Obviously, you haven't played against me." He looked at her. "So is that a yes or no?"

"It's a no, I'm afraid..." Seraphina glanced at him, and she saw his face flash with disappointment and embarrassment. Then she continued, "I have quidditch practice."

"Oh." Draco blinked at her, and the color slightly came back to his face. "I can meet you afterward... although I need like an hour to shower and change. I'm pretty sure you don't want to see my sweaty self," Seraphina added.

Draco relaxed and grinned. "You got yourself a deal. I'll meet you later at the clock tower entrance." He started to walk away but turned around to see her one more time. When she waved, he waved back and left, leaving her feeling excited for some reason. She was too thrilled to notice a dark shadow looming nearby.

"You're going to get it, mutt..."

"Great practice, everyone! Keep it up, and we'll definitely win against Ravenclaw next week!" Oliver grinned proudly at his team.

Seraphina laughed as Angelina whispered a joke about Fred's mismatched socks. She remembered Draco was waiting for her and hastened off the field, and Ron called her name. She paused and looked back.

"Let's go to Hagrid's Hut!" Ron grinned and waved at her. He had been watching them play for the past two hours, and now, he was eager to do something

"No, thanks. You two go ahead. I need a shower," Seraphina said.

"Then come after. We'll still be there," Harry said.
