"Macy, promise me you have to pursue your dreams, never give up, work hard, show them that you are a fighter, be respectful and be kind. " my father said.
"I will make you proud, I promise you," Macy replied to her father while hugging her father.
"Thank you, baby. I love you." He said
"I love you too! I thank God for giving me such a loving father, thank you," Macy replied while looking at her father's teary eye.

I woke up with a heavy heart. I dream about my father again. Our memories together when he is still here. It's been ten years since my father left me, but for me, it is still fresh. I am not at the pace of moving on nor in the process of moving on. My father died ten years ago because of a heart attack. He can no longer stand up and talk. And if you are looking where my mother is? She dumps us by pursuing her dream as a model. My father is opposed to her decision. We can't stop her. I remembered what she was saying before she left us. I am five years old at that time.
"It is my dream before, but I stop pursuing it because of you! " she said while pointing her finger at my Papa's face.
"But you said you love us, right? Why don't we start a new life? I am working hard to fulfill your needs, our needs. Why do you have to go to France if you have a family here?" My Papa answered while begging.
"But I already have a plan. It is all a mistake. I don't feel the love that you've given me. I don't love you too. I am just having a good time with you because I am bored. And I cannot believe that we can make a baby. But because I have a responsibility too. I endured nine months bearing your child and five years for the sake of the child. Thank you so much for five years. Goodbye! " she answered while walking away from us.

My Papa was crying at that time. He can't believe that the woman he loved the most was the woman who broke him after all. My father is a fighter. I salute him for that, and it was ten years ago.

After reminiscing my past, I get up and doing my daily routine. While doing my stuff, I will introduce myself first. I am Macy Montenegro, twenty years of existence. I am now in my third year of college. I took up Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics at the University of San Lorenzo Ruiz. I am a part-timer student. And my motto in life is that "Struggle is Real so Face it." hahaha. I am an independent woman. I enter so many jobs to fulfill my own needs. But because of this pandemic, I am having a hard time adjusting my schedule. Our University chooses online classes but, it is hard for me because I live in the Province of Cebu, where the signal is not as fast as the others signal, so I am worried. But thanks God, I have a friend in my work who was a classmate of mine, so we decided that we can go out together looking for a signal.

Every day, with my friend Shanta, we are going to the farm because the farm has a good signal.
"Friend! Are you done with the lesson plan in Science?" Shanta said.
"About that friend, do you remember when we are having our online meetup? It was raining at that time, right? I don't understand the explanation of our teacher because my signal status is so weak. I got disconnected every time I joined. In short, I have so much work to do, so I haven't finished yet." She replied.
"You're talking so much. Why don't you answer me directly? Hay friend! Oh! About what you are talking earlier. We are together at that time. I know that we are having the same difficulties in our signal together." Shanta answered while laughing.
"Hahaha, sorry." She answered.
"Let's go home now. We have work to do. I don't want to be late." Shanta replied.
"Me too!" She answered.

Every day, it is their routine, going to the farm for the signal, listening to the discussion of their teacher, and answering many activities, assignments, and projects. But one day, Macy was having her stomachache. It is not a normal stomachache. But it is her hyperacidity that is striking her again. She is worried sick because she doesn't know what to do. She has so many activities to answers but looking at her condition. She is lying on her bed, crying because she can't bear the pain anymore. Thanks to her friend Shanta, she visited Macy because Shanta needs some help from Macy with their activities. But Shanta was shocked seeing Macy lying on her bed crying. And by the way, if you are consciously thinking, why is Shanta can get inside's Macy house? Well, Shanta has a spare key in the apartment of Macy, so she can go inside whenever she wants.
"Friend!  What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Shanta said in panicking mode.
"Thank God you're here, friend. I don't know what to do now. My hyperacidity is striking me again. I can't bear too much pain anymore." She answered while crying.
"Here, I have medicine for hyperacidity. You can take it." Shanta said.
"Thank you!" She replied.
"You're welcome as always," Shanta answered.

After five minutes of bearing too much pain, the pain is now gone. One of the scariest happenings in Macy's life is that her hyperacidity. She owes her life to her friend Shanta.
One month has passed, but Macy is now problematic because she doesn't know what to do. She has many activities to do. She didn't know what she will answer first. Her signal is so weak. And in the middle of doing her activities. She heard a knock on her door. So she opens it.
"Hi! How may I help you? Mama?" Macy said while in shock.
"Hello, Macy!  Huhuhu." He mother said while hugging Macy.

She doesn't know what to feel and what to do. Will she be happy or angry? She doesn't know. But she welcomes her mother in her apartment because it's her mother anyway. She has so many questions that only her mother can answer it. She needs an explanation, why her mother chooses her dreams over them?.
"Here, mother, coffee for you." She said.
"Thank you, baby!" Her mother replied, but she's just nodded.
"I know you have so many questions in your mind. But I am here today to apologize to you. I want to live with you now. I want to take back those days that I am not here with you through your ups and downs. Sorry baby, for not choosing you and your father. Sorry!" Her mother said while crying.
"You know what? I want to be angry with you. I want to shout at you to screw you!. But I have a promise to my father that I will be respectful and kind. So, I respect you. I will not be able to forgive you now, but soon." She said.
"Thank you, Macy. I promise I will make it up to you. I love you." Her mother answered.
"Okay," she said.
"So, how were your studies?" Her mother said.
"Ahm! okay, I can manage as being a part-timer and a student." She replied.
"Oh! I salute you, Macy. You are a fighter like your father." Her mother said.
"Thank you!" She answered.

Days, weeks, and months have passed. Macy Was still studying online. She faces so many challenges in making these activities. Like, her weak signal, the deadlines, projects, and many more. But she survived by the help and guidance of her mother, the inspiration, and her promise to her father. There's no such pandemic that can stop her from pursuing her dreams.

"Keeping a promise will not hurt you. But,  Keeping a promise will help you do better and become better. So, it's never too late to keep a promise.
