The room is dark, little light is show except for the glowing eyes of the beasts surrounding its prey. They had spent many hours luring them into the old temple they had claimed as their home hundreds of years ago. Their mouths drip with drool and release snarls as they patiently wait for their prey to scatter. They grow more impatient and start to circle closer to the trembling humans. slight cries and muffled shouts escapes their mouths as they try to catch a glimpse of their attackers. Cornered and frightened, the group of six hugged closely together onto the wall, their breaths shuddered as they tried to hold in sobs. The creatures were were now almost four feet away from the group and their stomachs growled like a savage dog chewing on a bone. There was a particular girl who sensed that the beasts were getting ready to strike, she slowly edged towards a pillar, her movements were slight and her steps were carefully placed, she took shallow breaths and soon was near the pillar. Just when she thought it was safe she heard a loud shriek and turned to see that the beasts had put their plans to work, The group panicked and broke apart. The youngest of the seven beasts were sent first, unlike their elders the moved clumsily and it usually took them one or two pounces to catch the frightened prey. When the young were satisfied, the elders moved swiftly and blended into the shadows. When they attacked they tore flesh and snapped bones, when they began to eat, they made sure that their prey was alive. The girl who was still hidden by the pillar remained still, the beasts that had not eaten were searching for the last human, she lightly shook but tried her best to remain discreet to the creatures. Their sight was poor in the dark room but they could still smell her scent. The smelled the air and slowly edged closer to the remaining human, she slowly felt the ground for anything she could use to her advantage. Her trembling fingers soon felt something smooth, with only seconds to react she grabbed it. When she held it with the light, a brilliantly crafted sword glistened in the light. The creatures growing more impatient growled and stirred with excitement. Within second one ran towards the girl and pounced, but his jaws didn't grasp anything, instead he went limp as the girl pulled the sword from within his gut. She breathed heavily as the other creatures angrily roared, in the darkness their eyes glowed......
