It had been three months since Thor had been bestowed as future king of asgard by Odin. Shortly after, Odin had fallen into Odinsleep, giving Loki and Thor the chance to fight over ruling and who was worthy of the thrown. They fought as true brothers, never being satisfied with a victory over the other. It was maddening. Thankfully, Odin had just awakened a day before, so the brotherly war had seized for the moment. I still had longed for joining them in battle. Along side Sif and Fandral."You're highness, Your food has been prepared. Odin awaits your arrival." Sif kindly said, holding her arm to where I was to go. "Thank you, Sif. Do not wait for me, as I have something to quickly attend to in privacy." I waved my hand and Sif had gone. I sighed softly. I only get a brief moment of silence, I suppose I should enjoy it. I thought to myself. The sound of someone clearing their throat broke me from my meditation. " Najaran, I was wondering if you would join me to supper." I heard the low of Loki's voice. He sounded almost shy, and nervous. I turned to face him, and answer his question. "I will, Loki. Please, forgive me. I haven't felt well enough to deal with the others." I explained and Loki seemed to care for a brief moment. He smiled and held his hand out, moving out of my way. "You know, Thor has found a liking to you.'' Loki casually said, still clutching my hand. I looked at Loki and rolled my eyes. "He is no more interesting then a sheep or a wall." I looked at Loki and he seemed to share this feeling. The guard bowed before opening the door to the dining hall, a hushed silence falling over the people who had gathered already. "What? Can't a princess ask for a prince to take her to supper?" I glanced at Thor, and his face grew red, with jealousy, or with embarrassment, I could not tell. Loki stepped around me, helping me get seated. I quietly thanked him, and reached for a plate. "Do you intend to serve everyone else?" Odin looked at me. "As the princess of Asgard, I feel it is my right to eat as I wish." I spoke to Odin as if it were just him and I. I looked at his own plate and noticed it full. "Besides, you have your own serving, let others eat." I heard a few shocked gasps from either side of the table, and Loki did his best to avoid looking Odin in the eye. Frigga glared at me, holding her gaze, I didn't blink. I tired of failing to the mighty Thor Odinson. The future king of Asgard. I scoffed and began to feast. "A bad day today, sister?" Thor asked. "It was grand until you showed up, future king." I threw at him. He laughed a hearty laugh, while a few unknown faces and Frigga looked as if I had just slain their drapes. "Enough." Odin commanded of us. "Father, they were simply-" Loki began. "Stop!" Odin yelled at Loki, and he quickly sank back down into his chair. "Old man, you have not a heart for play. If Thor and I really intended insult, you would know." Frigga placed a hand on Odin's shoulder, seemingly calming him. We continued to eat in silence. Thor cleared his throat. "So father, today's adventures took us into Jotunheim. Laufey was planning a surprise attack on Asgard." Loki looked at me and I returned the look. "Loki, did you not join your brother?" Frigga asked. "No, mother. I didn't want to interfere with Thor's plans." Loki never really met eyes with her. Odin noticed. "Well, then dear son. What is your strategy?" Odin asked Thor, suddenly interested. "I..." Thor trailed off, looking to Sif. "We did not intend to take action until we spoke with you, sire." Sif answered for Thor. I shifted in my seat, uncomfortable. I looked longingly towards father. "Father, you know that I wish to fight along side Sif and Thor. I believe I would be of help." I pleaded with Odin. He had known that I dreamt of being a mighty warrior, who was not seen as the princess of Asgard, but as one with the others. "Najaran, you know why. I cannot let you fight." I looked down, falling silent. My plate empty, I did not move. Instead of listening to Thor and father plan, I drew small creatures into the table, using only magic certain ones could see. As I drew them and moved to the next, they would begin to dance. I looked around trying to find something else, when I found Loki watching. He seemed delighted to see my little show, so I continued. "Mother, May I go?" I asked mother and she bid me go. I stood and walked to the balcony, the wooden creatures fallen. As my hand reached the handle of the door, I heard another chair scrape back.
