Sodium was just a lonely atom with an incomplete heart—I mean, outter shell. On a Wednesday in the Element Café, Sodium bumped into Chlorine. They could feel the chemistry the moment they touched.
Chlorine did a double take, “Do you have have eleven protons? Cause you are sodium fine.” Sodium could feel her boiling point rising just from being in Chlorine’s prescence due to the
transfer of electrons from Chlorine’s heart to hers – I mean, outter shells. They were bonding.
“I feel complete!” Sodium exclaimed. Now that they were bonded together, Sodium and Chloirne were a solid force. Every other atom was jealous of their crystalline structure.
“May I take all of your electrons in marriage?” Chlorine asked as he got down on one proton.
“Of course! Being bonded to you makes my outter shell complete!” Sodium wrapped her protons around Chlorine’s atom in a loving embrace.
A magical flow of lights showered over them, and suddenly they were transformed into a perfect cube of table salt.
Sodium and Chlorine, now happily married, decided to take a honeymoon to Gab Gab Beach in Guam. They were so excited when they got there that they jumped right into the water. While they were swimming, Sodium caught the eye of H2O. Sodium slowly started to pull away from Chlorine. H2O was pulling them apart.
“You’re sodium fine that I just couldn’t keep you to myself,” Chlorine said as he slowly drifted away. “I’ll miss you….. goodbye Sodium.”
They never saw each other again.
