I felt the wind brush through my hair as I fell nearing the blue river beneath me. I could hear muffled noises from around me, and soon enough my eyes began to fail me as well. As I hit the water I slowly sank. Deeper and deeper. Falling in and out of conscious. The light from above started fading into a deep blue as I was entrapped by the surrounding water. The last thing I remember before giving into the darkness was someone dive in swimming closer and closer from above.

I awoke and as my eyes adjusted to my surroundings I realised I was in the hospital. I shot up and looked around to see if anyone was there but the excruciating pain in my chest stopped me.

"You're finally awake" I heard and almost Instantly turned my head to look at who the person was. It wasnt anybody I knew. "I'm Dr Jake Cadenza nice to meet you." He continued.
"Why am I here. What happened?" I responded.
"Do you not remember anything that happened from before you arrived?"
"No. Nothing."
"Well you jumped off a bridge and fell into the river, thankfully I was there and managed to get to you in time." Those words played in my head over and over again as images popped up in my mind until the story was complete. "Are you okay?" He asked after seeing that I wasn't.
"Why?" I responded. "Why did you jump in to get me? I-I could finally be at p-peace." My words began to slur and my head spun as the words just rolled off my tongue. "Wh-", he placed his hand ontop my mine and it felt as though time had stopped. As though all the problems in the world had disappeared.
"Its okay. I'm here." He said as tears streamed down my face. He simply brushed them away whilst setting my head down. I soon fell into a deep sleep whilst embracing his warm presence. I felt safe.

When I woke up the next day he was gone, I slowly sat up on the bed but the pain in my chest was still there. I glanced over at the table next to and saw a cup of water, a pill and a note
'Its a pain killer. You're gonna need it.'
I didnt need a name to know it was him, I just knew.

Soon after a couple nurses walked in to checkup on some stuff and informed that a therapist would be coming later. Truth is I dont want a therapist. I dont want nor do I need anyone to talk to. It's just a waste of money and time however I knew no matter how much I pleaded I still would've had to see them.

I spent most of my day in bed except for that time when I left to use the bathroom. I had to use a wheel chair as the impact of the fall shattered one of my leg bones. They said it would take a couple months at the least to heal. But, I couldn't help but think about him. I had hope that he would come visit again but he didnt show up. By that time it was lights out and I had to sleep usually I would knocked out but that night I didnt sleep a wink. There was something unsettling that kept me awake. As though there was somebody watching me, I tried to brush it off but the feeling was intense.

The room lit up as the sun slowly began to rise and soon the hospital was full with people again. Nurses walked in and out of my room but I payed no attention, it felt off. I couldn't quite place my finger on it but there was something very wrong.

He didnt show up today either I began to worry. Did something happen to him? Was he okay? No, he probably has other patients as well and I left it at that. Nurse Jackie was on duty today she was favourite of the lot. She always added extra gravy for me and would spend hours with me to fill the emptiness of the room. I decided to ask her if she knew where he was.
"Hey Jackie do you where Dr Cadenza is?" I asked.
"Who is that?" She responded
"He was there when I first woke up doesnt he work here? Dr Jake Cadenza ?"
"I'm sorry but theres no Dr Jake Cadenza at this hospital. Are you sure you havent mistaken one of the other doctors?"
What. What was she talking about. Theres no way he doesnt work here. Questions filled my head and it seemed it was too much for me and I passed out.

I woke to his voice. I knew he worked here. My eyes fluttered open and I scanned the room but nobody was there. What was going on? I was so confused. I felt a cold shiver throughout my entire body. Something was definitely wrong.
