I can't remember how many hands grabbed my skull and shoved me into a police cruiser. Clarissa was seated beside me in the same position; hands secured by handcuffs and head bowed. They wanted our finger prints, our faces, but most importantly, our stories.
Our parents were waiting in the other room. Or at least that's what they told us. I was frozen with shock, watching with wide eyes as policeman after policeman filed into the room. They were all in uniform, all loaded with guns. They all stared at us in disbelief, thinking the same thing. Crazy fans.
"Seriously, officer, I didn't mean to kidnap the world's biggest teen sensation!"
Dad told me if I ever got into any trouble not to say anything, but at that moment I really couldn't care less. My big mouth was what got me into this mess and it was going to get me out.
"You girls have a lot of explaining to do." A buff man with a thick mustache announced. "Kidnapping a celebrity..." His voice trailed off in laughter.
"We'll need to hear your side of the story." A woman sat down in front of us. "Before we can verify it."
Was Justin going to tell the truth?
The thought had never even fazed me. I assumed anyone would be honest in a situation like this-that it was all a big misunderstanding and we would get on with our lives.
But the more I tried to convince myself, the more I believed Justin wanted nothing to do with us and that was understandable. He was a celebrity; he had a reputation to keep up. We were just some crazy fan girls who decided to do the unthinkable.
With a sigh, I nodded. "Okay. Where should I start?"
