Alexia
Brother!
I stopped in my tracks and turned to her in utter confusion and anger. She didn't look fazed at all by her words as she flashed me an evil satisfied grin.
"How do you know about my brother?" I asked in a tone that was barely a whisper but she clearly heard me as she was walking towards me with a triumphant smile.
"Let's just say your brother and I cross paths more often than intended." She walked out of the room leaving me confused and speechless only because I knew my brother died ten years ago.
Could he be alive? Could they be alive?
Leo and his wanna be wife definitely knew more about my background than they showed.
I sat silently in my room thinking about how after all this years, my brother was still alive. All I know was that my brother died ten years ago in a car accident together with my parents. I barely remembered them out of choice because I had grown up as the unwanted child while my brother got all the attention and the love.
The accident happened when all three of them had left to go to a family dinner and I was left locked up in my room. Later in the night, cops burst into my room and I was taken to my aunt's house without a clue of what was happening. I stayed a few months with my aunt until she finally told me about the tragic accident. Although my family hated me, I still loved them dearly and that's why I used to cry myself to sleep after finding out about their death.
I blinked away the tears threatening to fall because of the memory. I hadn't heard my bedroom door opening until I saw Leo walking in.
"Get ready, we have a flight to catch." I looked at him quizzically thinking he was joking but the stern look on his face said it all.
"You finally came to your senses and decided to take me home?" I asked him jokingly but the full on glare I received shut me up.
He stared at me curiously as if trying to read me with a small frown on his face.
"What?" I asked as I shifted uncomfortably under his gaze.
"Nothing just remember we leave in thirty minutes." He spoke after a long pause and finally walked out of the room.
I went in the bathroom and let out a sigh as it dawned on me that he had been staring at my face stained with tears and almost puffy eyes.
After a quick shower and applying light makeup makeup, I walked down to the living room where and I noticed Leo pacing around in frustration focusing on his phone. Thank God Blondie was nowhere in sight which meant there was a possibility of her not coming with us.
"I'm ready." I made my presence known as I sat comfortably on the sofa.
"Is that all your luggage?" Leo asked pointing at the small backpack I had.
"I know we're not going on a vacation so yeah."
"Good. I like a woman who can travel light." He said with a soft smirk.
"Thank God I have your approval." I said sarcastically rolling my eyes.
"Babe I'm done, how do I look?" That annoying voice. We both turned to see Blondie walking down the stairs gracefully with Nathalie following her quietly carrying two suitcases and one duffel bag.
This was going to be a long flight! I sighed.
I noticed her outfit,a mint green strapless dress that was too tight for her own good but at least it wasn't as short as her other outfits. She would look really nice if it wasn't for the overly done makeup but I'm not the one to judge.I looked down at my grey sweatpants, black tube top and nike shoes and figured I was at least more comfortable than her.
Leo ignored her previous question and we walked out of the house heading to the black tinted SUV waiting for us outside.
"I call shotgun." I screamed as I headed to the front seat.
"What are you, twelve?" Blondie asked with a scoff as she waited for Nathalie to place all her luggage in the car.
"Look at the three-year old talking." I said as I burst into fits of laughter and I swear that I saw Leo crack an actual smile but it was gone as fast as it came.
I got myself comfortable in the front seat until Leo tried to kick me out to the back because we already had a driver.
"There's no way I'm staying in the back with that awful creature that calls itself human." I huffed stubbornly.
"Would rather stay with the luggage?" I glared at Leo but still went to the back seat but I ensured I was at a considerable distance away from blondie.
The engine roared to life and we drove off to the airport. Blondie kept on talking about her favorite makeup line and whatnot. I wondered how she hadn't realized that no one was paying attention to her,not even her husband.
"Does she come with an off switch?" I asked out loud and Blondie gave me a harsh shove.
"Woah there blondie, keep your disgusting hands off me or I'll have to beat you to pulp." I threatened seriously as we finally arrived in the air port.
Three men in official suits opened the door for us and I was surprised that no other passenger was in sight.
This man closed the whole fucking airport for his own benefit?!
The luggage were taken care of as we followed Leo into the black jet. Leo's presence screamed power and you could tell by how all the staff were at his beck and call.
I looked around in awe at the interior of the jet with the theme of gold and cream which made it homey and welcoming. There were two mini fridges all full of expensive wine and caffeinated drinks. Long leather chairs sat on both sides with a small table at the end of each. I turned to Leo but before I could ask my question,he answered.
"Yes Alex, it's my private jet now make yourself comfortable because the flight to New York might take a while." I don't know what surprised me more, that it was his private jet or the fact that we were going to New York, home.
Both Leo and Blondie disappeared to the back room and I was left there struggling with my seat belt.
As the plane took off, I closed my eyes with a clenched jaw to ease my anxiety.
