Tuesday, 8.45 PM
Copter lowered the car window and inhaled deeply. The cool night breeze hit his face and disheveled his perfectly set hair. His bangs fell on his eyes and poked at his eyelids.
“Kit? Kit?", Kimmon’s voice seemed to echo from afar.
Copter cleared his throat and took deep breaths without any reply.
“Kit? Are you okay? Kit...”, Kimmon placed his hand on Copter’s shoulder and shook him gently.
“Ye… yes P’Kim”, Copter mumbled coughing.
“Are you alright?”, Kimmon slowed down his car and turned towards Copter.
“Hmmmm…”, Copter nodded slowly.
“Hey look at me. What’s wrong?”, Kimmon asked getting worried.
“I… I am a little out of breath, P’Kim. I guess it’s the ice cream”, Copter said coughing again.
“What? But.... What happened?”, Kimmon asked anxiously.
Copter opened his bag and fumbled into it breathless. Kimmon checked the rear view mirror and stopped the car at the road side.
“Kit, what is happening? Are you okay?”, Kimmon shook Copter again in panic.
“In… inhaler… my inhaler… I didn’t bring my inhaler”, Copter said panting heavily.
“Inhaler? Do you use inhaler? Oh my god… what should I do now?”, Kimmon looked around frantically and spotted a pharmacy across the road.
“Can’t breathe, P’Kim. I... I need inhaler”, Copter said grabbing Kimmon’s sleeve.
“There is a pharmacy across the road, Kit. I will get you an inhaler. I will be back in a minute. Can you handle until then?”, Kimmon asked, opening his car door.
Copter bit his lower lip and nodded slowly, with teary eyes. Kimmon ran across the four lane road and banged open the pharmacy door.
“Inhaler… I need an inhaler”, he demanded to the pharmacist.
“Which type do you want, sir?”, the pharmacist asked calmly.
“Huh?”, Kimmon frowned.
“Which type of inhaler do you need, sir? We have MDI for Ashthma and other types of relievers and preventers, masks and so on… Which one do you want?”, the pharmacist explained.
“I… I don’t know. I…”, Kimmon pulled out his phone from his pant pocket.
Kimmon opened his contacts to call Copter, but his thumb froze on his phone, as realization hit him like a thunderbolt.
“Sir?”, the pharmacist looked at Kimmon puzzled.
Kimmon turned towards the glass door of the pharmacy and looked at his car, which was parked at the other side of the four lane road. He chuckled in detest.
