~ The Left-out Words ~

One night about a month later after the mini-commotion that took place in their house, Kathir was sitting in the hall leaning on his favourite pillar and he had a clear view of the night sky with a full moon. He loved days like these especially when there is complete silence around him which is quite rare especially having Kanna with him. He looked at his little brother who was seriously gazing at his phone, which for sure can't be anything of real importance. Jeeva was in the backyard probably talking to Meena. It's been a routine and he could make a guess that there is some problem for Meena in her house in the last one month.

On the happy side, things were back to normal in their bonding with Mullai's family. It was like the good old days. No one spoke of that issue again. His mother was angry with Jeeva for treating Mullai badly. She understood that Jeeva can have his own likes and dislikes but he could have dealt with it in a better way. Mullai's frequent visits made her let go of everything for peace. Jeeva had not yet found courage to talk with Mullai and Kathir himself had not seen her after that night. She had always been visiting their house when he was in the shop.

When he sensed some movement nearby he came out of his deep thoughts, Kanna had got bored with his phone and he had turned his attention elsewhere. He then noticed a box full of snacks from which he was eating at this late hour.

This was exactly what Kathir hid from Mullai when he told her what his father thought about both of them. His father too thought they would make the best pair. His father was not someone who sows such thoughts into young minds unlike the other family members who insisted again and again at all occasions that Jeeva should marry Mullai when they grew up but his father had said his wish to him in an emotion and he never mentioned it to anyone after that. He even would have thought Kathir would forget it. That was a long lost secret between him and his father which no one else knew.

Jeeva was back at that moment and Kanna was silenced by a deadly stare from Kathir. He laid on his mat next to Kathir and slept.
