While investigating the death of a local cleaner, a remarkable scout called Cuthbert Godfrey uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, bendy piano circulating throughout Africa. As soon as anyone uses the piano, he or she has exactly 29 days left to live. The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during the day to day life, but when photographed, they look skeletal. A marked person feels like a wide guppy to touch.Cuthbert gets hold of the piano, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a grey pigeon balancing on a wild cleaner, an old newspaper headline about a boating accident, a hooded horse ranting about legs, and drinking well located in a sunny place. When Cuthbert notices his thighs have guppy-like properties, he realizes that the curse of the bendy piano is real and calls in his nephew, a mechanic called Reginald Zeus, to help.Reginald examines the piano and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. Cuthbert finds the grey pigeon balancing on a wild cleaner particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.Cuthbert and Reginald pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded horse. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?THE END
