Jay and Mae were walking towards Jay's class after lunch. Usually it was the other way round, but Mae insisted on walking Jay to class that day. She wanted the day to be different, and also needed to talk to her.

"Your appointment is at 4:30. Don't take your bike; you won't be able to reach on time. Take a taxi." Mae said.

"I know, Mae. I've been seeing Dr Debra for two and a half years from campus now."

"And yet, you never seem to take a taxi. You always go by your bike. The university is far from the hospital. Why don't you just take a taxi?"

"I like going by my bike. It's fun," Jay shrugged her shoulders.

"Jay, you really know how to give me a migraine," Mae shook her head. "Just, go by a taxi today. Please."

"Ye algesseubnida, eomma! (Yes mom, I understand!)" Jay jokingly bowed before Mae, causing her to chuckle.

The corridors of the university were never quite empty; students were always present there. New freshmen were always looking for classes, older students would walk with books in hand, and some would simply hang out there. In the midst of a couple of students hanging out, Mae's eyes landed on Chanyeol's. It was very easy to spot a tall guy like him anywhere. Upon seeing Mae, he waved his hand, a smile plastered to his face. He was leaning against a pillar, talking to a guy who was quite shorter than him and had his back faced towards the girls. Mae waved back at him and smiled.

"Isn't that the guy from yesterday?" Jay asked

"Yeah, Park Chanyeol. He helped me out by giving me his notes from yesterday's Econ lecture."

"That's nice. He seems like a goofball though."

"Oh, he is. He's really sweet, though." Mae chuckled.

"The goofballs are always sweet. Take Landon, for example."

"Oh, now you agree that Landon is sweet!" Mae turned to face Jay, eyebrows raised.

"Hey, I'm not agreeing to anything. I'm only stating my opinion," Jay shrugged.

"Right!" Mae laughed.

The pair had reached Jay's class when Jay turned to face Mae, "I'll see you at night, then."

"Yeah. Talk to Dr Debra; tell her about what we talked about yesterday. I'm sure she can help you out better with this."

"Yeah, I will. I'll go, then. Bye." Jay turned to walk into her class.

As soon as Mae had started walking back towards her own class, Chanyeol appeared beside her.

"Hi, Seung Mae."

"Hello, Chanyeol."

"Heading off to class? That was your roommate right? You're not in the same major?"

"Yeah, that was my roommate. No, we're not in the same major. She's majoring in Criminology."

"Wow, that is so cool!" Chanyeol's eyes were sparkling at the mention of Jay's major.

"Yeah it is. But it's also kind of scary; she can tell when someone is lying."

"That fascinates and scares me at the same time" Chanyeol laughed, causing Mae to laugh in turn.

"Where are you headed to?" Mae asked, turning to face the tall boy beside her.

"Class. You?"

"Me too. Which floor?"

"Third. Yours?"

"Fifth."

The pair headed towards the elevator; Jay's classes were on the eighth floor. On reaching the fifth floor, Mae got out, bid goodbye to Chanyeol and headed off towards her class.
