I slipped off Cotton Candy as Conall ran into the clearing beside pegadeer creek. Tyrek flew off my shoulder, flying over to the edge of the water. Conall and I ran towards the creek, looking along the tree line for the missing quadcorn.
Soon we found Galaxy tied to a tree. Tyrek went to free her as Conall and I walked along the edge of the creek.
"So how have things been in the village?" I asked politely.
"Same old, same old" Conall replied.
"We should go," I said as Tyrek came over, Galaxy trailing behind us. Conall nodded before jumping on to Galaxy. I hopped onto Cotton candy as Tyrek resumed his perch on my shoulder. We ran towards the village, making it there in record time.
"Ok. time to put this plan into action," I exclaim as I jumped off Cotton candy. "Cotton candy, Galaxy? You know what to do." The quadcorns nodded before backing away from Conall and I.
Galaxy and Cotton Candy disappeared in a ball of blinding white light. Seconds later the light dispersed to reveal two stunning women. One was of average height, her blue flowery dress just passing her knees.
"Hello. I'm Jacey." the girl said, her blonde hair flowing past her shoulders like an elegant waterfall. I stared in awe at the magical transformation.
"I knew that quadcorns could shapeshift, but this is unreal," Conall exclaimed. I laughed as I turned towards the other women. Her deep purple dress flowed down past her knees, flaring out at her ankles like a fully bloomed iris. The dress was the perfect length to show her purple lacy flats.
"Hello, Oak." The second girl started, "Hello Conall. My name is Violet." I watched in awe as the two girls looked at each other. "We look like flowers"
"That's the point." I laughed. "Conall? You have them?"
"Sure do." The wolfman smiled as he pulled out a set of metal handcuffs. I turned around, facing the girls. Within seconds I felt cold metal slip around my wrists as Conall locked my hands together behind my back, a faint click could be heard as the cuffs locked into place.
"You ready girls?" I asked as I tugged against the metal restraints.
"Yep," Jansey replied
"Let's do this." Violet smiled. I nodded as the fake flowers pushed open the door. Conall pushed me forward as I lowered my head. A few people glanced our way, but no one paid any attention. We made our way through the village, coming to a stop before the castle.
"You ready, Oak?" Conall enquired. I nodded as Jansey and Violet pushed open the heavy doors of the castle. We entered the entrance hall as I struggled against my restraints.
"Let me go!" I shouted at Conall
"No. I have brought you here for Josinik. I'm not letting you go and you are not gonna escape. " Conall sneered as he tugged on the handcuffs.
"Conall, please!! Did our friendship mean nothing?" I shouted. Conall looked at me, winking before he replied.
"Of course not. You are a fool Oak Smith" Conall hissed. The venomous tone caught me off guard. A flash of hurt ran through me before I remembered the wink. He was acting. I told myself. I continued to struggle as the girls called out for josinik.
"JOSINIK!" Jansey yelled.
"WE HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU" Violet added. I continued to struggle until I heard a voice ring out.
"Well well, well," Josinik chuckled, "What do we have here?" I stared at Josinik. All struggles to escape the handcuffs stopped as I smiled.
"Hello, Josinik." I huffed as I once again started to struggle against the metal restraints.
