I did what Louis said, not just because he said so but also because I've always wanted to see how I would look like in the best decade of all time. I decided to go with a neon green colour. I permed my hair so it was really frizzy and then split my hair from the right side instead of the middle so it added a nice look to it. I wore think neon green hoops and green eyeshadow. I had a loose neon green top which slid off my shoulders so I wore a black tank top underneath it. Then, I wore a leather neon green skirt that I had never took out of my cupboard before and wore platformed white boots. I admit, if someone saw me on the street, they would be a bit suspicious but I couldn't care less.
I went straight to my door only to see my mum in the kitchen.
"Mum! What are you doing here I thought you were meant to be at work?"
"I came up to get some check paper. Ava, what an earth are you wearing?" I shrugged.
"Louis is taking me to a trip to the eighties, I'm not sure myself do I really look horrible?"
"No! No, honey you look amazing. The eighties... they were great times. I never had the courage to go for the neon green look, I was always the pink girls." I gasped,
"You were a sporty gym gal?"
"I was indeed." She laughed. "So, are you and Louis..."
"Mum, we are just friends."
"And that is why you are spending your birthday alone?" I shrugged.
"Change is good."
"Says the girl who hasn't changed anything about herself since..." she hovered, I knew where that was going to go. I had to change the topic.
"I don't like Louis. Besides, even if I did. Carly likes him. It's sort of girl code you know." My mum looked surprised.
"Carly... has she hang with you much lately?"
"Not really, it doesn't mean we are not friends though." She nodded but her eyes narrowed meaning she disagreed. "I should go, Louis is at the door."
"See you honey."
"When's my curfew?"
"Try to get back before midnight. Heck, it's your birthday make that one." I kissed her on the cheek and left the house.
Louis was outside the door looking at the street so her didn't see me. He was wearing a leather jacket and some baggy jeans, yep, it was definitely eighties related. He realised I was standing at the door and our eyes locked. For some reason his mouth opened a bit, as if he was about to say something but didn't. I looked down at my outfit,
"I might have overdone it a bit, if that is what you were going to say." He closed his mouth and coughed.
"No, um no. I was going to say how amazing you look." He smiled and mumbled to himself, "Now I'm sad." I don't think he meant for me to hear that.
"Why?" He blushed and through his head back as if he was embarrassed.
"I was sad because we didn't live in the eighties."
