Why Would You Do That?

Violet pov
I've not even spoken to Minerva and I already wanna kill her. What she did to Clem was fucked up. And this 'Gabe' isn't much better, Louis told me that he used to have a thing for Clem. If that's true then why the hell would he let that happen.

Clem's been really down all week. I don't know what I can do to make her better, I've tried everything. I'm gonna go ask Lee or Luke and see if they have any ideas.

I walk out of Clem's room, I've been staying there in an attempt to cheer her up.

As I walk past the bathroom I hear some singing and I'm just drawn to it. As I reach the door, I'm met by the sweet voice of my girlfriend singing. This has to be the happiest she's been in days even if it is a pretty depressing song.

I stay there for a few minutes just listening and appreciating her voice until she turns the shower off and stops singing. I take that as a cue to leave.

As I walk through the kitchen to reach Lee's office I bump into someone. "Watch it!" They almost scream in my face. "Sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." I say as I look up to see who I've just bumped into. Red hair. Shit. Its her. "Clearly. Now move." I'm not moving an inch for her, if she wants to walk past she'll have to go around or through me.

"I said move." I'm completely still. "Are you deaf or something? Move!" She shouts as she pushes me out of the way. As she walks away I mutter "bitch" under my breath.

I finally reach Lee's office and lightly knock on the door. "Come in!" I hear a more southern accent. Must be Luke. "Hey Luke." I say as I shut the door behind me. "Hey Violet, how are you doin'?" "Yeah. I'm good, but its not me I'm worried about." He looks at me, confused as to who I am worried about. "Clem." I say quietly. "Oh. Yeah, she seems really down this week. I asked Lee if he knew why she might be like that but she's not spoken to him since last week." He reveals to me. Maybe that could be contributing to it. I think to myself, on top of the main thing obviously.

"Umm. Yeah." I think for a second as I debate whether to tell him why she is so down. "Luke. What I'm about to tell you can't leave this room. I promised Clem that I wouldn't tell anyone." I say seriously. "Okay, I swear I won't tell no one." He says as he puts down the bit of paper he was reading on realising that this is a serious conversation.

After I tell him everything that she told me he sits there, jaw open. "Fucked up right. That's why she's been so depressed lately." He just stares at the floor. "Fuck. Thanks for telling me Violet, I'll need to let Lee know though." "What? No! You said tha-" He interrupts me before I can finish. "I'll tell him that she didn't want anyone to know and that he also can't tell anyone. Okay?"

I relax as he explains his thinking. "Okay." I say softly. "I just. I don't know how to make her feel better, nothing's working. I've tried everything I can think of." I say as I stare at the floor. "I just feel useless about it." We both sit there in silence for about 30 seconds.

"Have you two been out yet?" He breaks the silence. "How do you mean?" I ask. "Like into town or anything?" "Like a date?" I think for a second as I realise what he's suggesting. You. Are. A. Genius. Thank you." I say as I stand up and give him a very short hug. "No problem, How's it going with you two?"

"Okay I guess, it was going great but then she got back and now..." I don't even need to finish the sentence for him to understand. "Yeah, I guess its got her distracted. All those memories she probably locked away until now." He explains. I think for a few seconds."Yeah. That makes sense. Anyway. I have a date to arrange." I say with a cocky smile on my face. "That you do kid."

As I open the door I'm met by a certain red headed girl with a guilty look on her face. "Uhh. Hey." I greet her. I guess I have to be civil with her sometimes, best get some practice in now. "Hey. What were you asking Luke about?" Why does she wanna know that? "A personal issue. Something I don't wanna tell anyone else about." I say as I start to walk away. "Okay." She says with a sinister smile on her face as she pulls her phone out.

As I knock on Clem's door, she unlocks it and instantly goes back to laying on her bed. "Hey babe." I say as I close the door behind me. "Don't 'babe' me Vi." She says with a menacing scowl. "What? Why? What's up?" I'm so confused at why she's being like this. Yeah she's been sad but for some reason she seems angry. "You know why." I stare at her blankly and shrug. "If you tell me then I could explain it."

"You promised you wouldn't tell anyone!" She screams at me. I guess this is gonna be our first fight then. I suppose it had to happen at some point. "Clem, I only told Luke. I promise." I try to move closer to her but she just nudges me away. "Yeah cause you kept your last promise." This cuts me, deep "Clem, You've been depressed all week. I hate it. I hate seeing you like this." I'm almost crying now. "I feel useless because I can't do anything to help."

At this point Clem is staring right at me, face full of tears, breathing heavily. "I. I'm sorry Vi." She quietly whispers out. "What for? I should be the one who's sorry." She reaches for my hand and I instantly take it, glad that she still wants to. "I didn't think about how me acting like this was affecting the others, how its been affecting you. God, I feel like a dick."

I chuckle at the last comment. "You aren't. You just need to talk to me about stuff like this. I wanna help you, you know that." I say as I squeeze her hand. "Yeah. Okay, I'll so that from now on." I let out a sigh of relief knowing that we were okay. "Come here." I say as she leans in.

I take the opportunity to give her a long awaited kiss. I can still feel the wetness of her tear stained face. She leans more into it which makes me open my mouth in shock since its usually me who leads stuff like this. She takes that opportunity to slip her tongue in my mouth. Eventually oxygen becomes a problem as we pull away, unfortunately.

We're both sat staring at each other, breathing heavily. "Holy shit." I say out of excitement, that has been the most we've done so far. "That's romantic." She jokes. "I mean. holy shit. That was, that was amazing babe." I admit to her. "I know. God I love you Vi."

"I love you back. Which is why." I stand up and pull her up with me. "We. Are. Going. Out. Later." I say in between quick kisses. "What? Like as in into town out?" "Yeah. How's Friday?" I ask. "Sorry can't do Friday. I'm at college remember. Plus I din't really wanna wait that long. I can do tomorrow though."

"Tomorrow it is." I have a huge smile on my face now that matches the one on Clem's. "Been a while since I last saw you smile." I say to break the silence. "I've been smiling all week." "you've been faking a smile all week, I can tell." I pull her into a hug and we stay like this for maybe an hour before Louis knocks on the door.

"Hey lovebirds." He's always calling us that and its getting on my nerves now. "What." I say wanting him to leave as quick as possible. "Food's here." I look at him confused. "Here? You mean ready." "Nah. Lee went to McDonald's while he was out, got us all something. Maybe wake her up? She'll be glad." "Okay. See you down there."

I hadn't even noticed that Clem had fallen asleep on me as I shake her lightly. "Hmmm. Don't wanna get up." She mumbles. "Yeah you do. Lee just got back, he brought McDonald's." Her head shoots up to me at the mention of food. "If you're joking I might slap you." "Lou just told me, c'mon."
