Wangxian Oneshots

New old body

Wei Wuxian wasn't sure when he started to feel  this way or if he knew all along, but chose to shove it to the farthest back of his mind.

Wei Wuxian was grateful for the second chance at life thanks to Mo Xuanyu, he really was.

Thanks to Mo Xuanyu Wei Wuxian had a body. He doesn't remember anything from the years of being dead, only a vague sense of darkness.

Mo Xuanyu had already a flicker of a golden core, when Wei Wuxian first felt it, he wanted to cry. From than on Wei Wuxian only strenghtened his golden core and his cultivation. It was painfully slow, but Wei Wuxian was grateful for even the chance of handling the sword again. He missed flying so much...

Thanks to Mo Xuanyu, Wei Wuxian could marry Lan Zhan and catch up on all of the time Wei Wuxian had missed with his family - his husband and son. A-Yuan had grown so much, it was impossible to think about the little A-Yuan from Burial Mounds and the grown-up A-Yuan.

Wei Wuxian was slowly mending back his relationship with Jiang Cheng. After the disaster that was Guanyin Temple, they properly sat down and talked. It was awkward and painful for both of them, but it was long time coming. Now Wei Wuxian could call Jiang Cheng his brother without the fear of the other killing him on the spot.

Jin Ling had finally stopped avoiding him and had even called him Da-jiu! Jin Ling likes to visit his friends in Cloud Recess and that also means visiting Wei Wuxian, Jin Ling always ask of stories of his parents, because he apparently didn't hear much stories from Jiang Cheng.

So all in all, Wei Wuxian was happy. He had a life that he could only dream of back then.

And yet....

And yet Wei Wuxian couldn't help but feel like something was missing.

Wei Wuxian found it in the way he bumped into things, frames, furniture. He found it in the way he keeps looking for a scars on his body that aren't there. He found it in the way how he has to tip his head up to look Lan Zhan in the eye even though they used to be the same height.

Wei Wuxian was truly grateful to Mo Xuanyu, he really was. But he couldn't help missing his old body.

Mo Xuanyu and Wei Wuxian had similiar features, but they weren't the same. Wei Wuxian was more taller and bulkier, Mo Xuanyu had more feminine body.

Wei Wuxian felt wrong in Mo Xuanyu's body and lately it was getting worse. Wei Wuxian didn't show it when Lan Zhan was around, he didn't want to worry his husband for such trivial thing.

Every morning Wei Wuxian wakes up feeling worse than when falling asleep the night before in Lan Zhan's arms. Lan Zhan is gone by the time Wei Wuxian wakes up and he has time to give himself a break from pretending he was alright.

Wei Wuxian wasn't alright by any means. He didn't have a proper time to heal and now Wei Wuxian was afraid he was too broken beyond repair.

The idea came up to Wei Wuxian out of nowhere.

Wei Wuxian was having breakfast alone as usual. Lan Zhan is normally busy with Chief Cultivator's duties all day, so Wei Wuxian is left alone for most of the day, not including his afternoon classes with the baby Lans and juniors.

As Wei Wuxian was stuffing his mouth with an amazing congee that only his husband could cook, a sudden epiphany struck him. The spoon which he was holding clinked loudly against the bowl as he dropped it in shock.

Why didn't Wei Wuxian think of that before??

Wei Wuxian hastily stood up from the table, dressed himself and speed walked it to his workshop, he would have run, but that is forbidden in Cloud Recess.
