CHAPTER 11
In the end
It's never just the dark you seek
(Poets of the fall - Balance slays the demon)
Lying on the hard mattress on the floor of his solitary cell, Morpho was not sleeping. The night was similar to the happening events - dark and gloomy; however, he didn't regret anything and wasn't distressed. In spite of the death sentence for him and his guys, he knew for sure he wouldn't die. The prophecy had to come true, the air around him literally screamed about it. That is why Morpho, who had always had a lot of emergency plans and options, didn't even think about an escape. He was just happy, because he was chosen to have this honor - to conduct the grand ritual that had to endure an heir of the great goddess with magical power. The planet was dying, not surviving through aliens' habitual lack of care and only Nhali's returning could save it.
Morpho only regretted that their murder attempt failed. Somebody must have betrayed them, because the emperor intensified safety measures incredibly. Rhatie the Eighth was so scared, that in spite of police's vigilance, he didn't dare to attend the ceremony of opening, but presented himself as a hologram, so realistic that no one had any doubts the emperor was there. But Morpho knew, that the usurper and murderer would get what he deserved very soon.

This time Sybil wasn't surprised to wake up in Eoll's embraces; she had found her real self and everything was like it was supposed to be. Having opened her eyes, for some time she admired the serenely sleeping guy and couldn't help but touch his soft golden hair. He was so handsome that Sybil could not take her eyes off him. It would be so good to stay here forever with him, to run away from all the problems and - what was the most important - from her obligation. But Sybil knew she wouldn't do it.
Eoll moved and whispered her name. Did he see Sybil in his dream? She just hoped he wasn't stabbing her heart at that moment.
- Hi, - opening his eyes, he said in a hoarse after sleep voice and she felt shivers all over. Eoll pulled the girl closer and buried his nose into her hair. - You smell so good, - he whispered, kissing her neck.
- I am a goddess, - Sybil smiled.
- It was the most wonderful night of my life, but it's time for us to get back to reality, - he moaned. - My friends are in the hands of empire police and I have to liberate them...
- Okay, - Sybil agreed, kissing him and feeling his heat in return. - But can we go liberating them at least in half an hour?
They found out from the news, that the execution of the rebellions, that were preparing an attempt upon the Emperor's life, would happen at noon on the main square of Narama. Outside there a strong rain was pouring and a hurricane wind was raging, but Rhatie was not going to postpone his favorite amusement.
Eoll looked sad and guilty and Sybil wasn't able to inspire him.
- He has been caring about me for all his life and I can't even save him! - he repeated again and again.
- We can try, - the girl said. - We need to find out the news about Yakko.
She put Ayla's coordinates on her comlink. Thanks gods, Yakko came back to life and was even discharged from the hospital. Soon he and Ayla arrived to Sybil and Eoll, who by this time had some kind of a plan.
- I will distract the Emperor's attention, revealing myself as a true culprit of a murder attempt, - he declared and Sybil winced.
- You'll just get arrested and your protest march will be over, - she noticed gloomily.
