Chapter 24 - Elves

I shudder as we get closer and closer to the source of the tremendous mana. The headaches start to get worse and worse the closer we get and my vision starts to blur. Yuno noticing this, takes my hand in order to guide me with him. I try to send him a gentle smile but he doesn't buy it, in fact, he only tightens his grip on my hand.

Finally getting into the room, the bright orb almost blinds me. Opening my eyes slightly, I spot someone in the orb and narrow my eyes.

"Who is that?" I ask, removing my hand from my eyes trying to adjust to the light

"What is this?" Klaus's mouth gapes as all our eyes are on the orb

Kaito shudders, moving his arms to hug himself. "So much mana"

Mimosa mirrors his actions. "It's so overwhelming" 

I let out a breath, narrowing my eyes at the person currently in front of me. My vision begins to flash white as images of unknown figures cloud everything. I lean against the wall as the sound around me begins to muffle and I see more people with pointy ears, taking, laughing and running around. The scene changes as the sky darkens and hundreds of bodies lay dead on the crimson soaked grass. A young girl with pointy ears smiles as she takes the hand of another that looks human and they enter a small house in what looks like some sort of forest.

"Y/n?! Y/n!!!!" Finally able to hear again, I remove my hands from my head and look up to see the worried faces of my squadmates. Looking back up, I realize what I'm looking at

"An elf" I suddenly speak, earning confused looks from everyone

"What are you talking about?" Mimosa questions, looking back towards the orb.

"The person that's in the orb is an elf"

"B-But that's impossible, the elves died centuries ago" Klaus tries to reason, but I shake my head

"Look closely at the ears and the markings on its face. Also, we're elves know to be loved by mana therefore, possessed a lot of it?"

They stay silent as I stand up straight. "But why would they have an elf sitting in an orb?" Yuno finally interjects

"I'm not exactly sure but-"

The orb gets brighter and the pain suddenly returns to my head as I let out an agonizing scream. Everyone else covers their eyes as the level of mana starts to rise. Uncovering my eyes, I see Yuno's open a little wider before returning to their original size.

"What's- What's going on?" Mimosa stutters as I attempt to stand again. Kaito grabs my arm to give me support and my eyes widen in fear as the eyes of the elf in the orb beginning to open. The mana seemed to engulf us whole as the almost everyone begins to be surrounded by yellow light. Their ears begin to morph pointer and some elf markings appear on their faces. I find myself stepping back, when my eyes fall on Yuno, who is no longer himself.

"Yu...no?"

"Y/n?" Mimosa calls out to me and I snap my head to her. "Your...your face"

I use some water and splash it on the floor looking at myself. My eyes get wider as I see I have my own set of ears and markings. 

"W-What? Kaito what is this about?" 

He shakes his head. "I-I don't know"

"Klaus?! Hey! Yuno? Hamon?" I try to get their attention and Klaus successfully turns towards me, but simply nods his head.

"What's going on?" Mimosa shudders, getting closer to me

"Don't talk to us" He sharply says

"Hah?" I narrow my eyes at him as he begins to talk again
