"Com're"
Zig zagging through the compound as alarms blare left, right, and center we skid to an abrupt stop sprinting around another corridor towards the cellblocks. It's what I witness in this corridor that makes me think maybe... just maybe... those alarms aren't for us. We've been rushing to rescue Diyoza but I don't think any of us, least of all me, paused to consider if she even required our rescue at all.
Through the guise of my Ghost Suit helmet I watch Diyoza, dressed conspicuously in a guards uniform, taking down five operatives. To my amazement she doesn't even seem to be breaking a sweat. The last time I saw her Diyoza had been heavily pregnant and now she's taking down men without so much as breaking a sweat. Diyoza brutally slamming a skull into the cement wall the body drops heavily with a smack to her feet. Suddenly I'm aware of exactly why she was on that mining ship, to begin with. Unimpregnated... she's a bloody machine.
When she spots us I quickly snap into the realization that she doesn't know it is us when a knife goes flying viciously down the corridor to embed in Hope's helmet. Diyoza charges for us without so much as a clue who we are. We're just Disciples transporting a prisoner to her, even when Hope tugs the release upon her helmet to gaze upon her mother. With a sad doe-eyed stare, Hope recognizes in a small girl's voice "Mom?"
I can almost see the recognition crashing down when Diyoza skids to a halt. Still, like a rock, she looks between Hope and Octavia stunned into silence, certainly a new look I've seen on her. "Oh my god-" her voice breaking, Diyoza fondly reaches to cup her daughter's face in her hands "Hope." Hope hardly nods once before she's tugged into her mother's embrace, both sharing tears over their reunion. A separation I wouldn't have wished on anyone. If I'm being honest it almost makes this failure of a rescue mission worth it.
Almost.
"Stone rooms this way." As if Echo can feel my hard stare she turns and wanders down the corridor. Not too fast and eager, but enough to indicate she wants to move on.
With a fleeting look after her, Diyoza asks "What's up with her?"
"Bellamy's dead", Octavia manages to croak out, her voice as shattered as I feel.
