Trigger warnings: Bullying
George's POV / No one's POV
George walked through the halls, gripping his backpack straps as he approached his locker. He slowly unlocked it, mouthing his code to himself as he entered it. The door opened with a *click*, and George began to put his stuff away. As he dug through his bags to grab his books, his hand grazed something wet. Apon further inspection he saw that his water spilt, soaking the bottom of his bag. He scoffed, and went to the bathroom to dry it. He coughed as he inhaled the familiar smoke smell that always seemed to linger in the air. George grabbed a handful of paper towels, and started drying his backpack. As silence filled the air, so did a muffled sound from a stall. 'Is that...crying?' George wondered. He examined the bathroom, finding the stall the crying was coming from. He looked through the small crack in the door, and saw someone. He had dirty blonde, mid-length hair. His eyes were a greenish-brown, shining because of the light's reflection on his tears.
He just stood their, examining the sobbing boy. It felt like hours, but in reality it was like 30 seconds. After that, the blonde boy looked up, his eyes widened as he made eye contact with George. George realized what was happening and just ran. He made sure to grab his backpack, as he ran out of the bathroom to his class. He slowed down in front of the classroom, and entered. "Mr. Williams, you're late." Ms. R spat. "Sorry, I spilt water in my bag and had to clean it up." He muttered, taking his seat. The teacher scoffed, almost like she was saying 'I don't care'. George mentally rolled his eyes and started paying attention to the lesson. The day passed by slowly, until finally the lunch bell rang. George snapped out of his thoughts, not having paid attention in class at all. He kept thinking about that blonde boy in the bathroom. 'Why is my mind just laser focused on that crying kid? Was it because he saw me? Yeah probably.' He tried connecting the dots.
He got up, grabbing his stuff, and walked out the door. He threw his stuff in his locker, and grabbed some money for lunch. George soon approached the cafeteria, but as he was about to get in line for food he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around, and almost groaned when he saw who it was. "Hey George! I forgot my money again, can I borrow some?" The red-haired girl asked. "You always forget your money, Alex, this is the 20th time this month." He muttered. "What?" "Nothing." George said, handing her his lunch money once again. "Thanks Georgie~" She said, walking away. He couldn't see her face, but he could basically sense the smug look on Alex's face. 'I need to stop giving her my lunch money, she asks everyday.' He made a mental note, and walked to a random table. Usually he would sit with his friend Sapnap, and the people at the table with him wouldn't mind. But he felt too overwhelmed from the school day for social interaction. He didn't want to talk to people more than he had too.
George put a book onto the table, and pulled out a pencil. He always kept the book and pencil on him. He opened the book, and started sketching mindlessly. My thoughts wandered to unknown places as the pencil just glided across the paper. He was knocked out of his trance-like state by the ring of the bell. George sighed and looked down at his drawing, and realized that he had drew the boy in the stall. "Shit!" He whisper yelled to himself. Was his thoughts really that centered around the mystery boy? He sighed and closed the book. He put it away, and slowly walked back to his locker. Finally after some torturous hours, it was the end of the day. George grabbed his stuff out of his locker and went out of the building. His end of the day bliss ended as he felt a hard shove, making him fall to the ground. He let out a small noise in pain as he felt the wrist he landed on bend in way it probably shouldn't. "See ya, Georgie~!" The person yelled, laughing at his pain.
Bullies always mocked him with the name Georgie after they heard his mom call him that one time in middle school. It was stupid, but they kept doing it. 'They have short-memories my ass' He thought to himself, remembering what a girl said on a show once. He slowly got up, wincing as he put pressure on his injured wrist. 'Please don't be broken' He thought to himself as he examined his wrist. He just sighed to himself, and started walking home. "I've sighed way too much today." George muttered, laughing at himself. He slowly approached his house, unlocking the door and entering. He immediately flopped down on his couch, mentally and physically exhausted from the day. He pulled out his phone and scrolled through discord, checking if he had any missed messages. He saw a missed message from Sapnap. George opened it, seeing that it was an invite to Sapnap's halloween party. "Oh right, he has these every year." He thought aloud. He was about to type his usual "No, I'm good" but decided against it. He contemplated it for a little bit, and sent his answer. "Sure, I'll come."
