It was a beautiful sunny day as Rebekah gently set her little niece's small body in the baby swing of the local playground. Her teenage niece Jacqueline standing next to the pair watching the baby swing with a joyful smile upon her face.

"Hey, aunty. can I go to the shops while you play with Hope?" The teenage girl asked making the blonde look at her hesitantly.

"I dunno Rose. I won't be able to keep an eye on you over there." She replied with a shake of her head making the young girl pout.

"Pleeeeease." She begged making her aunt sigh before handing her some money.

"You've got 15 minutes." Her aunt agreed instantly regretting it as she watched the young girl snatch the money and dash across the street to the small-town shops.

Jacqueline Rose's Pov

After Rebekah handed me the cash I couldn't wait to go into the town center. Don't get me wrong I love living with my aunt Rebekah but it's not as fun because we are in hiding. Not to mention that we literally never go into town. Rebekah just compels the same guy to bring us things we need every week. I just really need to see other people and have some kind of human interaction.

Upon arriving in the small shopping center I couldn't help but smile seeing all the people and their families that walked around me and be glad I had blood sometime last week to keep me from attacking anyone. After scanning the area I noticed an arcade that a lot of kids my age were coming in and out of. It seemed like a cool place so I decided to walk in. the place was actually really nice inside. There were a bunch of arcades and video games as well as a bowling alley. there was an ara that resembled a bar where kids could be seen getting food and drinks. It was amazing. I know it wouldn't have been that awesome to an everyday kid, but I'm not your everyday kid. I was asleep for like 10 years, so pardon me if I'm a bit excitable.

After standing in awe of the place for a moment or two I made my way to the counter and bought a game card. I then walked around seeing if anyone game would catch my eye.

"You new around here?" A male voice said from behind me. turning around I looked to see quite possibly the cutest boy ever. He was tall with the prettiest brown eyes. It took me a moment to actually process his question and firm an answer.

"Oh.. uh yeah I'm new.," I said pushing a curl behind my ear which made him chuckle.

"Well consider me the welcome committee. My name's Jace and this fine establishment is Pluto's it's the main hangout spot for all the teens in town." He explained making me smile.

"Well nice to meet you, Jace. I'm Rose." Smiling he shook my head before asking if I wanted to play some games with him. I nodded checking the time seeing I had about 10 minutes left but once we started playing games all concepts of time went out of the door....

After a few more pushes on the swing, Rebekah began to feel uneasy. Looking around her quickly she saw nothing but the play structures and trees. A babbling Hope pulled her out of her trance making her smile and push her a few more times.
A few moments passed before she looked around again and almost screamed at the flock of black crows that stood on the play structures, watching her. Fear seemed to wash over as she quickly picked up her baby niece, pulled out her phone, and started hastily walking away as she dialed her brother.

"It's me. I have the baby and we're on the run. Esther found us." She said quickly as she searched for her niece who should've been back by now. "We're safe for now. I've lost her bloody starlings, but I have no idea where to go."

"Rebekah you said you have the baby. Where is Jacqueline?" Elijah asked his sister concern more than apparent in his voice.

"I don't know. She was getting restless so I let her go to some little shops in town. She should've been back a few minutes ago. She was only supposed to be gone for fifteen minutes!" She said as she walked into the shops Rose had gone to. "I have no idea which of these bloody shops she could be in."

"Rebekah, are you trying to tell me that you lost my daughter?" Elijah asked a wave of sudden anger in his voice.

"No.,..I've simply missed placed her," Rebekah mumbled walking into a shop looking for that curly-haired girl she called her niece.

"Sister you need to find my niece and get out of there. We will text you with a plan soon." Klaus spoke seeing the stress his brother was going through at the thought of his daughter being lost and alone or worse...with their mother.

"Alright, don't worry I'll find her."Rebekah said before hanging up.

Jacqueline Rose's POV

"Okay Rose I'll admit it, you're a fierce competitor." Jace said as we got some sodas

"Why thank you. You are...easy to beat." I said jokingly making him chuckle and roll his eyes. "So, what else do kids our age do for fun around here?"

"Well on Fridays you can catch most of at the drive-in and lucky you because it just so happens to be Friday." The young boy said as they walked down the street towards the corner shop. Many teens could be seen walking in and out of the store buying snacks to bring with them to the movies. "Do you want to ride with me? I noticed you don't have a car and I wouldn't want you to watch the movie alone."

I almost immediately said yes until I remembered I was supposed to be here for fifteen minutes and it definitely felt like longer than that. Taking my phone out I noticed it had been an hour and I had a swarm of texts and missed calls from Rebekah, Dad, and even Uncle Klaus. Esther has found you, you need to run. Oh, thanks mysterious voice.
"Hey Jace, I'm sorry but I can't go to the movies. I've gotta go." I said with a frown as we stopped walking and he turned towards me.

"Oh.. alright. Well, when can I see you again?"

"You uh..you won't....I'm moving." I said playing with my sleeves nervously. I felt so bad for leaving so abruptly and I could tell by the look on his face that he was hurt.

"Oh..."

"I'm so sor- Jacqueline Rose!" Taking in a sharp breath my apology was cut off by an angry Rebekah grabbing my ear with Hope in the other arm.

"I have been looking for you for 20 minutes! We have to go!"

"I know but-"

"No but's!" She said grabbing my arm as she began pulling me away. Sighing I walked with her looking back at Jace who had the biggest frown on his face. Before I was out of sight I mouthed 'call me' making him confused since we never exchanged numbers. Smiling softly I pointed to his pocket and watched as he pulled out the paper in his pocket. Eyebrows raised, he looked at the paper that appeared in his pocket. Like magic.
