Happiness cannot be measured and counted like any object or thing that is material or can be sensed. Happiness is abstract because it is a quality dependent on feelings and comfort of the heart.
It is possible that a person's happiness can be measured by calculating how often he feels happy and how much he feels sad. And that's not an exact number. In essence, happiness can be measured by the joys and sorrows that are felt.
Many claim that a person can feel perfect happiness when he has got; throne, treasure, woman. But is this statement true? True or not, we can see how someone who is wallowing in wealth can have a restless life, even with those who have the throne and beautiful women. So what's the answer? Later we will discuss more in the section on Happiness and Spirituality.
If we ask people what happiness means, the answers we receive will vary. It turns out that everyone has a different definition of happiness according to their background, feelings and the life they live.
Perhaps happiness for a young child is getting a new toy that their parents bought them.
For a student, happiness is being able to get good grades and rank one in class, or at least getting into the top ten so that his parents are proud.
Happiness for a teacher is when the lessons given can be understood by students, then manifested by a satisfactory score index from the students.
Happiness for a single person is being able to find a life partner so that his ears are not heated by questions from neighbors and close relatives, 'When do you want to get married?
Happiness for married couples who have not been blessed with children is being able to have children who add to and complement their unfulfilled happiness. They feel tortured every time they hear the news of how their best friend has given birth to their umpteenth child, while they don't have any children.
Happiness for an unemployed man is getting a stable job, or at least a job that is able to straighten his face so that he has self-respect in front of his family. Because for a man, work is his pride.
Happiness for an employee or worker is when you have a boss or boss who is kind and gets an increase in salary and the expected position in the company or corporation.
Happiness for a partner is getting love, affection and trust from his life partner.
Happiness for a salesperson is getting big profits and profits. Happiness for a buyer, being able to get the goods they dream of at affordable prices and good quality.
