Just as Mingi was instructed, he arrived at the cafe before twelve thirty. When he arrived he found Hongjoong handing a customer a cup of coffee and a bagel, while he could only assume Seonghwa was in the kitchen avoiding as many people as possible (he just seemed like the type).
Upon seeing him, Hongjoong gave Mingi a smile and waved goodbye to his customer. "Good morning hyung," Mingi greeted with a bow. "I like the skirt."
Hongjoong was wearing a knee-high plaid skirt with a matching choker and black beret style hat to go with it. "Thank you Mingi," he grinned. He handed him a black apron (don't worry, it didn't say 'kiss the chef's this time) and told him he'd be working at the front counter, while Hongjoong handled the beverage side of things.
While Mingi tied his apron on, the bell above the door jingled, a man walking in soon after. He said his hellos and looked at the chalk menu for an order. "I'll take a half a dozen vanilla doughnuts, a mocha and a black coffee." Mingi nodded along, writing down the order and relaying it to Hongjoong.
As the two of them got his order together, the man took continuous glances at Hongjoong. Every now and again clearing his throat, like he was trying to "subtly" get his attention. Eventually, Hongjoong just rolled his eyes and turned to the man. "I'm nearly done, just a few more minutes." He told him.
The man scoffed. "If I'd known someone like you was going to be here, I wouldn't have come here." Mingi glared at the man, harshly shoving the box of doughnuts in his direction.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He hissed. Hongjoong told him it was fine and handed the man his drinks. Yet he didn't still leave.
"God hates people like you!" He continued. "You belong in Hell!" Hongjoong actually began to chuckle at that.
"Oh believe me, I know." The demon snickered. The man seemed less than pleased to hear this response and looked like he was about to continue. Hongjoong wasn't having any of that though.
With a forced smile he left the counter and walked over to the man's side. "You've paid, you have what you came for. So why don't I help you to the door?"
"Don't touch me pansy!" The man shouted as Hongjoong's hand brushed against his arm. He shoved the barista back, making him nearly hit the counter, before he was caught from behind.
"Seonghwa!" The older glanced down at him, then glared daggers at the customer. His light blue contacts faded away, turning to their normal crystal. The demon let out a low growl, earning a literal scream from the terrified man.
So terrified in fact that he dropped everything he ordered and sprinted straight out the door. "Are you okay?" Seonghwa asked his husband calmly.
"I'm fine. Maybe the skirt was a bad idea though. I forget how fickle humans can be about these sorts of things…" Seonghwa hummed in agreement.
"Don't worry though, I like it." Hongjoong giggled at the compliment as Seonghwa planted a kiss on his cheek right after. However both demons seemed to forget about Mingi, who was still behind the register wondering what the hell just happened.
"Aw Joongie! You're freezing!" Seonghwa exclaimed. "I thought I reminded you to wear a coat?"
"I didn't think I'd need one…" Seonghwa shook his head. The couple turned to Mingi whose eyes widened with confusion when he saw that Seonghwa's eyes had returned to blue when he could've sworn they changed colour.
"Mingi, could you clean this mess up? I'm taking Hongjoong home to layer up." Mingi nodded, watching as the couple quickly excited the shop.
"Layer up? It's nearly seventy degrees outside." Mingi muttered to himself. He shrugged it off though. Perhaps Hongjoong just got cold very easily.
The brunette brought a broom over to sweep up the crumbled doughnuts, sighing at the large mess. "Pardon me?" A sudden voice said, causing Mingi to fall back in surprise.
"Ah! I'm sorry! I didn't hear the bell!" He exclaimed. The man didn't move to help him up, simply watching as Mingi brushed himself off.
He was tall, around Mingi's height, with short, platinum blonde, almost white, hair that rested just above his eyes. He seemed well built, and had pale skin that complimented his silver eyes well. "Is there some sort of cosplay event happening?" Mingi thought to himself. With the getup this man, Seonghwa and Hongjoong were pulling off, he could only assume so.
"Are the owners of this establishment here?" The stranger asked. His voice was deep and very leveled, nearly robotic.
"You just missed them." Mingi replied. The stranger looked disappointed for a moment before his face switched back to its original, stoic expression.
"I see. Good day then."
"Wait!" Mingi shouted just before the man could leave. "Why not buy something before you go? I think the tiramisu seems pretty nice."
"Tiramisu?" The stranger said with confusion. When Mingi heard this, he told him to hold still then quickly dashed to the kitchen and brought him a plate with the dish on top along with a fork.
"Try it!" The man stared at the treat, then at Mingi, who was anxiously awaiting for his response. Cautiously, he took a bite. His eyes winded in awe and he immediately scarfed down the rest of it.
"That was...stellar." He said plainly, almost like he was trying to keep his excitement contained. "I am thankful for the treat."
The man got up, but Mingi quickly called out to him. "Hey! You still need to pay!" The stranger didn't stop. Just before he got to the door, Mingi yelled. "Can I at least get your name?"
"It's Yunho." Then just like that, he disappeared into the busy street. Mingi leaned against the counter with a pout. "What a strange man." He thought.
A short while later, the Seongjoong couple walked through the front doors. "We're back!" Seonghwa called. Hongjoong came in next to him, wearing at least two sweaters and a coat. He had to be burning under all of that! Though it looked to be quite the contrary. Strangely enough, Hongjoong seemed quite comfortable with the fit. "Agh, Mingi! I thought I asked you to clean this up!"
"Oh right, sorry Seonghwa Hyung! I'll get right on it!"
"And did you eat a tiramisu? That's coming out of your paycheck!" Seonghwa huffed as he marched back to the kitchen. Mingi sighed, going back to cleaning the mess on the floor. That was when he noticed Hongjoong standing in the middle of the room, his brow furrowed almost in disgust.
"Are you okay Hyung?" Mingi asked. Hongjoong snapped out of his little trance and nodded.
"I'm perfectly fine." He assured the younger.
