Monday's

Jose's Pov

*BEEP* *BEEP* I stir awake to my alarm going off at 6:00 am. Of course today has to be Monday already. "Ugh." "Will you shut up already please!" I smashed my fist down onto the alarm clock as gently as I could with my eyes closed tiredly. Opening my eyes just enough only to see the bright light from the sun shining gracefully through my window. "Another day of high school." I sighed.

Slowly swinging my legs over the edge of the bed hopping up, walking over to my closet. I grab my clothes and other things I need for the day. My mind drifts off as I start to think. I mean don't get me wrong I am a morning person, but on school days I just seem to be the most annoyed. Sure I know almost everyone there and like talking to people, but I don't really seek the attention I am constantly given at school.

Eventually stop thinking about school or whatever and start walking to the bathroom to get myself together. As I look into the mirror I realize I look like crap. "Come on Jose, wake up." I whispered. Quickly splashing some water on my face before jumping in the shower. Once I finished grooming myself, I got dressed and started walking downstairs, skipping into the kitchen. I see my mom at the kitchen counter making pancakes. She smiles when she sees me, turning her head a little to greet me. "Good morning Jose." My mom said, in a good mood today. "Morning mom." I said just as joyful.

I happily take a few pancakes and eggs off the plate on the table and put it all in a container, and head out the door after saying by to my mom before hopping on to the bus greeting the bus driver like always. In the back I see an empty seat next to Jayla, and make my way to her. She is one of my good friends, really the one genuine friend I have. I don't really attempt to have long meaningful conversations with anyone else I know at that so-called "school" I go to.

I take my seat and Jay greets me with a hug and starts to tell me about the new family puppy they just got, which they decided to call Bella. I listened to her rant on. Here and there I add a few comments like, "wow that is cool," or "that's great." I really tried to listen but I was currently running off five hours of sleep, and couldn't really focus. The conversation soon ended and I found myself leaning on the window, just watching as we rode by Rutgers University.
