Chapter 28

Ethan's Pov

I wake up and see Amber is still asleep. I quietly make my way out of the room and head to the nurses station.

"Hi, I was wondering when Amber Stutts would be released today?" I ask.
"She should be able to leave pretty soon. I've never seen so many boys for just one girl." She says
"Yeah well, we all love her. She's family." I sigh.
"Well good for her, I can tell she's been through a lot. I seen all the scars on her when we did a work up. She's a strong girl. She just has to find a reason to keep fighting." She smiles.
"Yeah, I hope she finds it soon." I smile and walk back to the room.

I get in and see her still sleeping. I decide to call Hayes and see when they all are coming.

Hayes Pov

"Yo quiet down Ethan's calling!" I yell.
"Hey Ethan what's up?" I ask
"Nothing i was just seeing when you guys are coming. I think it would be nice for her to wake up in a room full of people who loves her." He says.
"Yeah that's a good idea. Me and the boys will head that way right now."
"Alright, hey stop by Dunkin and get her something." Ethan says
"Yeah sure thing." I say and hang up.
"Yo guys let's load up and go see Amber!" I yell. Everyone leaves when i hear someone yell.

"Wait! I'm coming with." Grayson says running down the stairs.
"No." I say and walk out. Of course he follows me.
"Hayes I'm coming with you. I need to see her, I have to explain." He begs.
"Grayson I don't give a fuck what you need to do. You are done with her. You did the one thing that hurts her the most. You don't get to feel sorry for yourself. If you only knew the damage you've done to her Grayson." I scoff and walk off.
"Please Hayes, she's my everything."
"Clearly she isn't, you wouldn't have done this to someone who means everything to you." I say getting in my car and backing out.

We drive for a bit but eventually get there. We all get out and walk to her room. She looks up at us and her face lights up.

Ambers Pov

I've been scrolling through my phone while Ethan goes and gets a Doctor. I turn my phone off and see the guys standing in front of me. I smile.

"Hey guys." I say
"There's the girl we love." Jack says kissing her forehead.
"We are so sorry we weren't there to help Amber. We said we'd protect you and we failed at it." Shawn says.
"Come here." I say smiling. He walks to me and I stand up with the help of him.
"You couldn't have done anything if you were there. We don't know if this was on purpose or not but that doesn't matter. You guys are so incredibly kind and sweet. I couldn't ask for a better group to be apart of." I say hugging him.

"Hey baby, the doctor said we can go now." Ethan says walking over to me.
"Okay let me get dressed and grab my stuff."
"Not so fast, you have to rest for a few weeks Amber. You have to be very careful." He says and I just sigh.
"Boys out." Ethan says looking at them.
"What wh-" Nash says
"Just get out." He rolls his eyes. Once they leave he sits me down and walks over to my bag and grabs one of his hoodies and my sweats.
"Can I help you get dressed?" He asks. I look down and sigh.
"I'm not going to look baby, you know that." He says sweetly.
"That's not the problem. Let's just get this done and over with." I say quickly. He nods and starts to put on my sweats. He then goes to take off my hospital gown when he sees my wrists.

"What the fuck?" He says
"Ethan please..." I say quietly.
"When did you do this?" He says sitting next to me.
"Last night. It's not a big deal." I say looking down.
"Yes it is Amber. You chose a healthy coping mechanism instead of cutting. I'm so proud of you." He looks down at my wrist that says 'you've got this'.
"Alright lets go home." He smiles. He carries me to his car and we say goodbye to the boys then go our separate ways.
We drive for a bit until we get back to his apartment. He helps me out and we walk in.

"It's like we never left. Sometimes I wish we never had." I laugh.
"I know baby." He says kissing my cheek.
"Why don't you sit down, I'll go get you some hot tea." He says helping me sit on the couch. I turn the tv on and see chopped is on. I smile then it fades thinking about the past events. My eyes get watery but I fight the tears when I hear Ethan coming.
"Baby what's wrong." He says
"I thought, that maybe just for once things were turning around for us three." I say crying a little.
"I know Amber, I know." He says hugging me.
"I need to talk to him Ethan. If this really is the end of our friendship I need to say goodbye to him." I say
"No, you aren't seeing him." He says.
"Why not, we don't even know if he did it on purpose or not." I say
"He hurt you again. Wether it was intentional or not he still did it."
"I'm going to go have a shower. I'll be down later." I sigh. He gets up and walks with me.
"I'm coming with you, you can't do it on your own."
"Okay." I say lightly.

He picks me up and walks us upstairs. He sets me on his bed and gets a bath going. "Alright, the bath is ready." He smiles. I get up and slowly walk to the bathroom. When we get in there I look at myself in the mirror and see my cheek is stitched and I have bruises. I scoff and look away.
"Baby, don't do that." He says kissing me gently because of my busted lip. He helps me undress and I get in the bath.
"Mhmm this feels so good." I sigh.
"Good,I haven't seen you this relaxed in a while." He laughs slightly. I smile at him. We sit in silence for a bit until he says,
"After awhile, and I mean a while, we both can sit down a talk with him. Just to see what he says." He sighs.
"We can talk about that later, I just want to enjoy this peaceful moment." I say.

We sit in silence when I see him shift uncomfortably, I think about what I want to say next and if it's a good idea. It's Ethan, he won't don't anything Amber. You can trust him.

"Ethan?"
"Yes baby?" He smiles.
"Do you want to come get in with me?" I say slowly.
"Are your sure you're ready for that Amber?" He says worried.
"I trust you Ethan, I'll be okay." I smile. He nods and slowly stands up. He takes his clothes off and gently gets in behind me.
"Are you okay baby?" He asks.
"Yeah I'm okay." I say and for once, I really felt okay. He sits down fully and I lay against his chest. He slowly snakes his arms around my stomach and starts to rub it.

"I'm sorry you're in pain." He whispers laying his head against mine.
"Yeah, me too." I say placing my hand onto his.
"It'll be okay, this gives us a reason to do nothing but be lazy for a while." He says kissing my shoulder.
"You're so right." I smile slightly.
"As always." He says.

I slowly turn around and wrap my legs around his torso. He looks at me with a concerning look and I nod.
"Baby, take it slow. We don't have to do anything you don't want to. Remember you have to be careful." He says
"I just want to be close to you is all." I say fully sitting on his lap now. He looks at me and puts one of his hands on my cheek rubbing it. I hold it there and smile.
"Kiss me." I say. He smiles and slowly starts to lean in. He stops when our lips are nearly touching and stays there for a while. I snake my hands up and into his hair. He smirks and fully leans in. We sit there kissing for what feels like forever. After a very heated make out session we break away and he hugs me.

"I think that's enough for tonight." He says into my shoulder.
"But I'm proud of you." He says looking at me.
"Normal couples do this all the time Ethan."
"Yes but you had something horrible happen to you, a few weeks ago I couldn't touch you on your stomach and now look at you. You trusting me enough to take a bath and make out with you Amber. That's huge." He's says smiling.
I smile in lay my head against his.
"Let's get out before you get cold." He says.

He stands up and wraps himself in a towel then helps me up. I stand up and my stomach hurts like hell.
"Okay, just take it slow." He says wrapping me in a towel. I slowly make my way out of the tub and lean against him.
"You're doing good baby." He says
"Let's get you dressed then we can lay down." He says then grabs me a hoodie and sweats from the bed. We both get dressed and make our way to the bed.
"Let's watch The Vampire Diaries." I say.
"Bloodsuckers it is." He says playing it.

We lay down and watch it until it's dark out. I look over and see him drifting to sleep. I kiss his cheek and he smiles.
"You missed baby." He says
"What?" I say and turn over.
"You missed my lips." He says and kisses me softly.
"I'm in love with you." He says cuddling me.
"I'm in love with you too." I say and then fall asleep.
