Cas x Reader ~1 (First one :) Not Mine)
Sam and Dean were late, which wasn’t unusual, but you’d already had a rough enough day and this was just ridiculous. There was nothing worse than tardiness right now.
The diner was packed and some rowdy dude had nearly knocked over your cup of coffee all over your lap before leaving, and you glared at him as he exited and two familiar boys entered. You were about to call them out loudly in front of everyone, but your voice was stuck in your throat the moment a third party entered, close behind Sam and Dean.
Blue eyes, black hair, and wings. Actual wings, beautiful and raven, and nobody was even sparing a second glance.
“Sorry we kept you waiting. It was Cas’ fault,” Dean mumbled, turning to glare at the dark-haired mystery boy.
Cas. His name was Cas.
“It’s okay,” you said quickly, not taking your eyes off those blue ones. They were the only things distracting you from looking at his wings, which seemed to be a little rude. And, judging from the fact that literally nobody else was looking at Cas weirdly at all, it seemed as though you were the only one able to see them.
Maybe Sam and Dean could, too, maybe this was sort of privilege, but you didn’t want to ask, didn’t want to be rude.
“Why are you being so creepy?” Dean piped up, his eyes quizzical as you snapped out of it and turned to look at it, eyes wide.
A blush crept onto your cheeks when you realized you’d been silently gazing at Cas intensely and you cleared your throat, opting to change the subject immediately.
“So, what are you guys in town for again?” you questioned, waving for them to join you at your small booth. They all shuffled in, Dean and Cas on one side and you and Sam on the other.
You felt blue staring into your very soul as you tried to listen to Dean and Sam’s latest mystery creature on the hunt, wings still in the corner of your vision, and you had to clasp your hands around your still piping hot mug to have something else to concentrate on.
“Yeah, yeah, I can help you figure out what’s up,” you nodded as soon as they’d finished explaining the situation. Both of them were still giving you weird looks but you still weren’t paying that much attention to them. All of your attention was directed towards not looking at those incredible wings. How could everyone not be looking at them?
“Uh, alright. How about we meet up later tonight and get started on figuring this stuff out?” Sam suggested, and you were quick to agree, a beaming smile on your face just at the proposition.
All three of them stood up once it was all set up and you watched as Dean turned and clapped a hand on Cas’ shoulder, a shit-eating grin on his face as he looked between you and him. “How about you stay with Y/N for a little bit and introduce yourselves? She obviously hasn’t met you before and you haven’t met her. She’s great,” he rambled, nearly shoving Cas back down into the booth across from you before hauling Sam out, who had also caught on to what was happening.
You weren’t oblivious to it, either, and you glared hard daggers at their backs until they were out of the diner and out of sight.
The nerves were staring to build up but you immediately turned to Cas, watching him shift uncomfortably, and when he wasn’t looking at you, you snuck a glance at those wonderful wings, the feathers rustling as the door opened again and a small gust of wind whooshed in with the couple that entered.
“Um, hi. I’m Y/N, I help out with the weirder cases sometimes. They haven’t mentioned you before,” you introduced yourself, leaving room for some conversation, but it looked like Cas was just as timid and socially awkward as you were.
