What a Day

We arrived at Kampton's house and after unloading the boxes out of the car I plopped down on the couch and put my hands over my face. "What a day." I mumbled sarcastically to myself. Just then I heard my phone buzz. It was a text from Kessley. Annoyed, I picked up the phone and read the message.

What are we gonna do for mom's funeral? I have no idea when it comes to this stuff. I didn't think I would be planning a funeral this early in my life.

The last part of the message brought tears to my eyes but I quickly wiped them away. I really didn't want to do this but we had to plan mom's funeral and after all it was her mom too. I sighed and texted back.

Come to Kampton's house tomorrow at 12:00 and we'll plan it together.

I hesitantly sent the text and within seconds there was a buzz of my phone.

Sounds great! I think I have some great ideas.

I huffed and didn't text back. It's not that Kessley was exactly mean throughout my childhood, it's that she was so annoying and had no idea about personal space. Not that she wasn't mean because...SHE WAS MEAN. "Can't wait to hear her ideas!" I said sarcastically to my phone. Kampton looked up at me from the opposite couch with a confused look. I grumbled and walked over to him like a tired zombie. I collapsed on the couch next up him and buried my head in his neck. He chuckled and just looked down at me. "Hug me." I mumbled and he wrapped his arms around me. I soon fell asleep in his arms and moments later he carried me to his, well ours now, room and layed me down softly on the bed and covered me with blankets. He soon climbed in and wrapped his arms around me once more. I just snuggled up to his chest as he kissed my forehead. "Love you." He whispered in my ear and I smiled. "Love you too." I mumbled as we fell asleep in each others arms.

I needed the sleep. Tomorrow was gonna be a looooong day with Kessley here.
