Its based off the original story of pokemon origins just slightly different as it follows Angel Halliwell as he joins red on his journey to complete the pokedex

We finally made it through Victory road and were at the steps of the Elite four, the Indego Platue. I had doubted i would be able to go with Red but to my suprise they didn't seem to have a problem seeing as though i wasn't a battler like Red. Waiting for him were the strongest trainers in all of Kanto.

Before Red could face the champion he first had to defeat the elite four, Lorelei and her Ice type pokemon, Bruno and his Rock types, Agatha and her Ghost types, and finally lance and his Dragon types.
"How could my dragons have possibly lost to you" Lance said suprised.
'Well to be fair most of them weren't really dragons' i thought.
"Red you are now the pokemon league champion, well done" Lance said placing his hand on red's shoulder.
I began to smile feeling proud of my friend for coming so far.
"Or actually you could be, but there is still one more challenge that lies ahead of you" Lance said. This made my smile fall instantly, and I had to admit I was a bit annoyed concidering all Red went through to reach this far.
And it seemed Red felt the same, well to a certain extent at the very least, as all he could do was ask "another one?".
"Thats right the current pokemon league champion" Lance said leading us to the door to the champion.
It wasn't the easiest of battles since some of Red's pokemon was at a disadvantage but he still pulled through and beat every single one, and only the champion lied before him to defeat, but i know he can do it he has to.
"Hey Red" I called out to the boy.
"Hm?" Came his answer turning towords me and letting me know i had his full attention.
"Do you find it weird each of the elite four used one specific type? I mean wouldn't that make it easier for the challenger to counter them" I said coming to that realization.
"Hm i guess but some of them were duel types like Gengar being part poison type" He said
"You have a point but you could still counter with a pokemon that knows a super effective move but isn't affected by poision" I told him.
"Good point but then what are the chances they would know which pokemom they are going to use" He said. I nodded along to his reasoning because he was right the chances are slim.
'And pokemon battles are highly unpredictable' I thought.
As we neared the room we saw the champion waiting for us but what we didn't expect was the champ to be....Blue!?
"Hey, I see you finally made it" Blue said then started to laugh a bit then immediately going back to being serious, "I was hoping you would" He said.
"I'd never thought that you'd be the Pokemon League Champion" Red said.
