You knew it was wrong.

Most wives expect the Faint scent of perfume on the blazers of their Husbands when they get home. It was Normal. A man could do whatever he pleased while the woman stayed home and kept the household together while the men went out to work. And see they're mistress. But to them it was fine. Just steal a cigarette, light it up, pour yourself a glass of Wine and sit back to let the pain of the man you thought you loved love someone else. And if it were that bad, being someone to your own bed.

But that wasn't the Deal with Your Dear Alastor.
When you married Alastor you knew you wouldn't find a man like that again. He was one of a kind, to put it simply. He didn't care about the way you looked. Only the way you looked at him. With a smile on your face and loving eyes. He didn't care if you didn't like the custom of the house wife, he would clean and cook for the both of you whenever you wanted. He didn't care if you didn't want children. He respected you in all of your boundaries. And you're girlfriends would swoon over him as well. Reminding you of your luck on finding a man like that.

Your Dear Alastor was a charmer. He made anyone Swoon over the Moon. Often times your would catch men do double takes, catching them staring at him for a second too long. Or watch those smooth smiles come across their faces when he talked. Of course, while he talked, you stood next to him. Both of your arms looped around each other's. And you made sure to stand close to him, Almost protectively. So everyone knew who he belonged to.

So the day he came home with an unfamiliar scent, your body twitched as electricity ran through it, and your brain fuzzed up a little. The
Immediate thought of him having a mistress crossed your mind. But Alastor wasn't like that. Your Alastor wasn't like that. He never loved anyone as much as he loved You. You knew everything about him, as he did you.

Maybe it was just a store he had walked in, or those pesky perfume ladies that spray perfume on you without consent. Yes, that must have been it.

And then you smelled it the next day. And the day after that. Until it went on for about a month. And out of No where, it had stopped. And relief had filled your mind, and you no longer had any worries. Until one day.

He came home from work and you walked over to hug him and kiss his lips. Like every day. He hugged you back and dipped you. One hand on your back for support and one lovingly caressing your cheek. When you stood back up you leaned on his chest. Taking in his scent.
The smell was so unfamiliar. At first you thought it had been a perfume. But it definitely didn't have that flowery fruity scent. A pastry, no. Your brain couldn't think of it.
Pulling away, you led Alastor to the kitchen. Smiling as you served him a plate of the food you cooked.
"Ah, Hunny, Is this the fresh meat I brought the other day?"

He smiled widely as you nodded, grabbing a folded piece of paper off the counter and opening it up.
"I prepared it just the way you told me to! I tried my best!"
"I'm sure it tastes delightful my Dearest."
He bent down to peck your cheek, which caused your cheeks to light up a bright shade of pink. Looking away, you let out some steam and handed him his plate.
"There ya go Al, hope you enjoy."

Now it was time for you to catch him off surprise. You kissed his jaw and he stopped for a moment. You enjoyed seeing the tip of his ears go red from blush, and he looked at you almost questionably. Before you chuckled and sat down. You could hear him chuckle below his breath before sitting down with you.
"Oh! Let me cut up some lime!"

You stood up to grab a knife and a lime. Quickly washing it off, you went to cut the lime. But instead you needed up cutting your finger. And of course, the wound made contact with the lime. Which only added more pain to your minor wound. You hissed and your Alastor quickly walked over, grabbing your hand gently and examining the wound.
"Let me get a band aid."
He walked off and you smiled. Holding up your finger and sniffing the blood. Did blood even have a scent.?
Of course it did. You laughed at yourself. Blood smelled so familiar. Maybe it had been from all the Past times you had accidentally hurt yourself.
Alastor came back, You had washed your hands and he put the band aid over your finger. Giving it a loving kiss.
"There you go, my Love."

As you ate, you couldn't help but wonder what kind of meat you were eating. But it was certainly delicious. Alastor had the tendency to come home with food you didn't know existed. And sometimes telling you what it was, and sometimes not. Today you didn't feel like asking. So you simply enjoyed your meal with Alastor. You didn't wish to pester him with questions, but instead enjoy the time you had with him. He was a busy man after all, he would usually spend most of his days out in the radio station and hunting. You supported him with what he did and he did the same with you.

So that night when he went hunting  you checked the meat you had cooked again.
Putting it up to you nose, you took a whiff.
There went that familiar scent.
And when you grabbed one of Alastors coats, it had smelled exactly the same. But how? It's not like he rubbed the meat against him.
You sighed. And opened up your band aid again. Gently squeezing your wound to see shiny red blood trickle your finger. Again, you held it up against your nose to smell it.

The second you heard the car in the driveway you quickly managed to shove everything in its place neatly, and wash off the blood. You sighed in relief as you heard the door knob jiggle. Walking over, Alastor quickly came in and pulled you into a hug.

"Oh dear how much I missed you~"
You smiled and hugged him back. Taking in the scent of his coat. You stopped when you felt something wet on on his back. He had pulled away to go and change. And you looked at your hand.

You knew it was wrong for your husband to come back home smelling like blood, and meat. The type of meat you had to capture without suspicion of the authorities.
But you loved him. And you were lucky to have him.
He was Your Dearest Alastor.
You couldn't ever leave him.
Even if you tried.
There was no escaping him.
