"Brother!" I called out to my brother, Gyomei as I run out of the house, my hands waving frantically to get his attention, knowing that he can sense me more easier if I do so.
Gyomei's head turns to me, his white eyes staring right through my E/C eyes, making my bottom lip tremble more.
"Y/n. . ." He mumbled as he turned to me before I run to him and jumps to his chest. My arms wrap around his toned neck tightly, tears falling down my face.
"Please don't go brother!" I pleaded to him. I know that the mission and even the part he has to play in this is risky. "I don't want to lose you too!" I shout, crying.
He could only smile warmly at me and pat my head. "Don't worry Y/n, I will return to you dare and sound"
A sob escapes my lips, knowing that it was too good to be true. But despite it, I raised up my pinky. "P-promise?" I stammered, wiping my salty tears away.
His head nods before crouching and helping me down. "I promise" he says, intertwining his large calloused pinky with my soft ones.
"You won't break your promise right?" I pressed on. My eyes burning through him.
I could see his smile falters but held on a facade. "Of course, I wouldn't be a good brother if I don't keep my promise, would I?" He chuckles.
Forcing out a smile, I nod. ". . .Yeah"

My hands trembled once I heard a loud explosion go off in the Ubuyashiki's estate. Tears escaped my eyes as an choked on a sob. My hands intertwining tightly, clasping the charm Shinobu-san and Mitsuri-san had given me.
"P-please let them be safe" I prayed for the hashiras which I considered as second older brothers and sisters. "Let them win. . ."
****************
As clashing of swords and shouts disperse into silence, I stayed still on my sit, holding my breathe. The fear from the sheer pressure from Kibutsuji strength made me shiver.
In my hands, clenched the charm. My body couldn't seem to move due to fear. I was cold as ice. Everyone left to help the hashiras and I was all left alone in the rock pillar's estate, My brother's estate.
Cold sweat dripped down from my neck. My throat was dry that I couldn't utter a word out. I was too afraid to move an inch.
I could only pray silently for brother's safe return.
****************
My eyes stared at the mountains as the sky slowly lighting up. The sun was slowly coming up, it took my breathe away.
My hands the charm tighter. The victory they wanted is so close, I just hope they all made it through. Especially brother.
Pressing the charm against my lips, a tear falls form my cheek. "I hope your safe brother" I prayed, hoping to see him go through the gate and smiling at me as he walks home.
"You're the only family I have left"

Hands shaking, I gripped the window sill. The sun had fully come up as I awaited a messenger crow to give me the news from the new Oyakata-sama. My heart raced nervously, I could feel it's beat in my ears.
"Please Kami-sama! I beg of you! Please let my brother live!" I thought as I sobbed and cried, clutching the window as the charm slipped from my hands.
Suddenly, I hear the familiar sound flapping wings. Gasping, I hurriedly run out the house to catch the crow's message. "Please!" I lastly thought before my eyes landed on the dark crow.
*******************
My knees buckle, making me fall to the ground. Sitting on the dirt, my eyes were wide as my mouth went agape. Not even caring when the crow flew off back to the Ubuyashiki's estate.
Covering my mouth, tears flooded my eyes as I then continue to uncontrollably sob.
"Why!? Why?! Why do you have to do this to me?!" I screamed, gripping my face before my hair.
"Why?! Tell me Kami-sama?!"
"He's a good man!! All he did was protect people! Why did he have to die?!" I cried out, before hugging myself and pressing my head against the dirt.
"I thought you'd keep your promise!! You liar! Liar!" I sobbed as I tried to get angry at my own brother. "How could you lie to me. . ."
********************
My eyes stared at the gravestone of Gyomei, my brother. A sob dared to escape me but I kept it in.
The others glanced at me, the pity they directed towards me made me sick. I didn't want their sympathy nor their pith.
Walking close to his grave, I threw a bouquet with his favourite flowers before smiling and stroking the gravestone lovingly.
"I hope you're happy with the others, Gyomei-nii"

Years passA laugh escapes my lips as I sat with Giyu and Sanemi with each of them at my side. My eyes teared up at the joke Tanjiro just said.
Giyu's eyes shifted towards me. "The joke wasn't even funny" he remarked, only to receive q glare from Sanemi.
"Shut up, she's laughing at it so it's funny" Sanemi growled angrily.
I giggle at the two men's childishness. A blush decorating my cheeks. "Geez, they're both so lovable. Even I couldn't pick which to choose" I thought, embarrassed.
After all, if two men were ever to court someone. They should only pick one. . . Right?
"Don't laugh at me Y/n-san" Tanjiro says, blushing deeply, embarrassed. His joke wasn't funny, it only made the mood worse.
I woke a tear as I giggle. "Haha. . .sorry Tanjiro. Your E just not good with jokes. Which makes it more funny" I say to him.
He pouts. "You're s-so mean, Y/n-san" he mumbles
Chuckling, I pat his head. "Oh don't pout at me"
Suddenly, his face pales as his eyes glance at the two men beside me. "Umm. . . Please don't pet me Y/n-san. I'm not a p-pet" he stutters.
I grin before putting on an act. "O-oh. . . Is that so? I guess you're right. . ." I mumbled 'sadly'.
Tanjiro's face pales yet again, more this time. "A-ah! It's fine! It's fine!" He exclaims, ready to hand his head over to me.
"Oh my gosh! You are so adorable!" I laughed out loud and turned to the two men beside me.
"Pfft" I laughed once I saw their faces. One was pouting and one was glaring at the poor boy.
"Geez Gyomei-nii, why didn't you say that they're like two babies?"
