Meet Again

Naglalakad ako sa park ng may makabanggang lalaki.

"Sorry, miss." Tumango lang ako at pinagpagan ang damit kong nadumihan. Pag-angat ko ng tingin ay nagulat ako sa pamilyar na mukha na nakita. Nilapitan ko ito at hinawakan sa magkabilang pisngi na ikinagulat niya rin.

"Osphi..." naisambit ko.

"Uhm.. Do I know you?" Humakbang siya papalayo.

"Yes. Yes. Yes, you know me. Didn't you remember me?" Malungkot na tugon ko pero umiling siya.

"I'm sorry, I think we didn't meet yet." Mas nalungkot ako.

He has the same look as Osphi. The guy I loved and the guy I am loving, Osphi Dett Vinaldez. Funny how our name be like that. Her mom said that Osphi and Dett came from the word ˙sophisticated˙. How funny, right? It's from the.. sophisticated and sophisticated. I don't know why they named him that.

"I'll get going, miss." It's me lang ba who see him smirk? Nah, think carefully, Naive. You're too innocent talaga kaya ayaw saiyo ng mga tao, eh.

Napabuntong-hininga na lang ako at wala sa sariling naglakad ulit.

Maybe I'm just tired. Forget about it, Naive. Your Osphi is already gone. Okay, that made me sad. Aish! 

Weeks passed after I met the mysterious guy. Muli akong bumalik sa park. Madalas kasi kami dito ni Osphi noon, noong nasa tabi ko pa siya. This is our favorite place back then and that makes me miss him more. I really really really miss my Osphi.

"It's you again." Nagulat ako ng makarinig ng pamilyar na boses. Mas nalungkot ako ng makita ang lalaking nakabangga ko. Kamukhang-kamukha niya talaga si Osphi.

"Is this your favorite place?" I nodded.

"Our." I corrected.

"The one you called Osphi?" Muli akong tumango.

I am naive, yeah, just like my name. It suits me. But I am not naive at all times, you know.

"Just wait for it." Nagtaka ako sa sinabi niya pero ng lumingon ako sakaniya ay wala na siya na ikinatakot ko. Is that guy a ghost? What the, Naive?

Napabuntong-hininga na lang ako.

And again, the day was just like a runners just like athletes because it was fast. 1 week had passed again at hindi ko na nakikita yung guy na kamukha ng Osphia ko sa park.

But now? I saw him, buying icecream. Buying... our favorite flavor of the icecream.

"Oh, hi. Sakto, dalawa nabili ko. Kakainin ko sana pero nandito ka na rin lang, here." Inabot niya sa'kin ang rocky road flavor.

"Is this your favorite too?"

"Ow. Favorite niyo rin?" I nodded and kinain na lang ang icecrean for me to feel good.
