( January '97 )
Harry and Cassandra were on a top secret mission when they headed up to Harry's dorm. As soon as the twins walked in, Ron stood up.
"I'm in love with her!" Ron exclaimed.
"Lavender?" Cassandra asked.
"I thought you didn't like her anymore and were going to break up with her." Harry added.
"Not Lavender, you sillies." Ron giggled.
"Just so that we're on the same page, who are you in love with?" Cassandra asked.
"Romilda Vane." Ron swooned.
Harry and Cassandra chuckled.
"Have you ever actually met her?" Harry asked, trying to keep himself from bursting out laughing.
"No." Ron said, looking disappointed. "Could you introduce us?"
Harry chuckled and Cassandra gave him a look.
"He's been poisoned with a love potion." Cassandra said. "Let's get him to Slughorn."
The three of them walked down to Slughorn's office and knocked on the door.
"This potion ought to do the trick." Slughorn said, once they settled in.
He held out the potion and Harry passed it to Cassandra. Cassandra then passed it to Ron. Ron took a swig, making a disgusted face. Then all of a sudden, he collapsed to the floor and appeared to be having a seizure.
"Help him Professor!" Cassandra exclaimed, worried.
Slughorn just stood there. Harry looked at him before reaching in the cabinet, pulling out a bezoar. Harry shoved the bezoar down Ron's throat. Ron calmed down, falling asleep.
"We need to get him to the hospital wing." Harry said.
Slughorn, Cassandra and Harry walked down the hallway and Slughorn was carrying Ron. Upon entering the hospital wing, Madame Pomfrey rushed to aid.
"What happened?" Madame Pomfrey asked.
"Poison." Harry said.
"Harry gave him a bezoar." Cassandra said.
Dumbledore entered the room with Ginny and Hermione.
"Is he okay?" Ginny asked.
Harry nodded his head as Ginny rushed to Ron's side. Harry wrapped an arm around Cassandra's shoulder and she leaned into him. Hermione sat next to Ron, holding his hand.
Lavender entered the hospital wing, causing Harry and Cassandra to roll their eyes.
"Won Won, are you okay?" Lavender asked. "What are you doing next to my Won Won?"
"He's going to say my name first when he wakes up." Hermione said.
Lavender huffed and opened her mouth like she was going to say something but Ron interrupted her.
"Hermione..." Ron whispered, half asleep.
Hermione looked at Ron and smiled. Harry and Cassandra looked at each other, satisfied that Lavender was going to be upset. And upset she was. She huffed and stormed out of the hospital wing, causing everyone to laugh.

"Jack, I can't do it." Cassandra said, using all her strength.
"Yes you can." Jack replied. "You think you can't do it but you really can Cassie. The more you doubt yourself the more you actually can't do it. I believe in you. Now you need to believe in yourself."
Cassandra stuck her hand out again, trying to make the snow globe on Jack's desk float. It lifted the tiniest bit off the desk but immediately returned to its original position.
"I'm useless, aren't I?" Cassandra asked.
She sat down in Jack's desk chair, defeated.
"Never say that Cassandra." Jack said. "You aren't useless. Maybe I'm just not teaching you right. We could get Brooklyn here to teach you, if you'd like. It sure as hell would be risky but it can work."
"I'd love for her to be here." Cassandra said. "But it feels weird around her. Like I don't know what to talk to her about or what even to do around her. It feels like she missed out on so much yet everyone is expecting me to fit right in with her."
"I don't expect that." Jack said. "She is a wonderful human being Cassie but she has made some mistakes in her life. Just because she's your aunt, it doesn't mean you have to fit in with her right away. Warm up to her. Let her start the conversations. Because oh boy, Brooklyn Potter sure knows how to talk. Once she and I started to become friends, she wouldn't stop talking. But she listens when she needs to. She can really help with this."
"Thank you Jack." Cassandra said. "You know how we're supposed to have a trusted adult in the building just in case something happens? You're my trusted adult. Not even Dumbledore compares to you."
"Wow I'm that special huh?" Jack smiled.
"Yeah, you are." Cassandra said.
"Alright break is over, get your ass to work." Jack said.

"Hermione." Cassandra gasped, rushing to her nightstand. "Who gave me these beautiful flowers?"
"I don't know." Hermione said. "There should be a note somewhere. A Slytherin dropped it off for you. I know that much."
Cassandra fumbled around for the note. She found it and opened it up.
Dear Cassandra,
Your eyes are the most beautiful shade of green I have ever seen. Your smile lights up a dark room. You are the kindest, prettiest, smartest person I know. I am lucky to have you in my life, even if you're not always in my life. I love watching the way your eyes light up when you're talking about something you love. Part of me wishes your eyes would do that when you talk about me. You might never know how I feel about you and I'm okay with that.
I love you, Cassandra Rose Potter.
"Hermione." Cassandra breathed. "There is a love confession in here."
"No name?" Hermione asked after reading the letter. "I wonder who it could be from. Like I said all I know is it was a Slytherin. A random one that said he was told to give it to you. You think it could be Blaise?"
"No, never." Cassandra said. "What makes you think it's him?"
"Well, he's the only Slytherin you spend loads of time with." Hermione said. "I just assumed it was him."
"The note says he's not always in my life." Cassandra said. "Blaise is always there. Plus, I know his handwriting, this isn't it."
"We'll figure it out, I promise." Hermione patted Cassandra on the back.
