Erica's POV

2 MONTHS LATER

"Come on Erica, this will be good for you" my mother assured me as we walked to the black mini-van.

"But Mom, I'm going to have to live with those regular humans for two whole years without even one mission or anything!" I whined, tears pricking in my eyes as I felt my whole body shake. I climbed into the mini-van, my mother in the front. She closed the doors and started the engine. Then we drove down the road, my mother breathed in the old car scent like it was perfume.

"It's going to be fun!" my mother argued.

"No. It won't."

"Yes. It will."

"No. It won't."

"Erica."

"Fine. I'll try it" I said, though I wanted to do anything else.

"Where almost to your house."

I gazed out the window as my mother sped along the road. About fifteen minutes later we arrived at a baby blue beach house. We climbed out and went to the beach house. I got my bag and hoisted it over my shoulder the wind sweeping my hair to the south.

Well normal life, here I am.

Bens POV

9 MONTHS LATER

My toes sank into the ocean as the breeze tussled my hair and brushed my cheek. A scarlet crab scurried over my feet and headed towards a shallow nook in the rocks a few feet awgiay.

I breezed in the oceans scent, letting it fill me.

A group of girls walked by, not even looking at me as they headed towards a smoothie but down the beach. Sand blew in my face as if was carried by the wind. I sat there for a long time, just watching the ocean send waves crashing on shore. Kind of like the ocean was, for some alien reason, angry with the sand.

I looked down at my phone and scrolled down on Twitter.

Dogs, cats, scooters, bikes, art, your name it. Suddenly someone sat next to me. I looked up to see a stunning girl with raven hair and icy blue eyes next to me.

"Hi" she greeted. .

She noticed me?

"Hi" I mumbled, my cheeks heating up.

"You like the beach?" she asked.

"Ya" my cheeks grew hotter.

"I like the beach, it's great to get away from things that you don't wanna... well, ya know" she said softly.

I looked down at my phone. "It is nice here" I admitted.

"Hey, wanna meet here? Eleven sharp?"

"Course', I'd be happy."

We both looked up.

For a moment our eyes met.

For a moment nothing else was there.

For a moment there was just her and me.

For a moment there was happiness and joy.

For a moment nothing else mattered.

Love bloomed inside me the moment I met here eyes then she got up and walked away, just glancing over her shoulder and smiling. I smiled back and waved.

Just for a moment I took my eyes off her.

Then she was gone.
