Chapter 13

During two weeks straight, Shiemi slowly started to detach herself from Sasuke, not wanting to give her heart away and getting hurt.

If what she felt for him wasn't mutual why would she force herself upon him, only to be left heartbroken afterwards?

I just have to suppress those stupid feelings, she would always remind herself.

Clearly, the ravenette (and the whole squad too) noticed her different behavior toward him. She would answer to him coldly and would try to stay as far from him as possible.

Again today, Shiemi didn't even glance at the Uchiha. In fact she mostly stayed with the Akatsuki, having promised to Yahiko to spend the whole day with them.

Obviously, the brown haired girl accepted since she was missing them, mainly her girl time with Konan.

"Alright see you guys tomorrow!" Shiemi said as she waved them goodbye before runnng to join the squad who was waiting for her.

"Wassup shorties!" the blue eyed girl greeted them with a grin.

"You're the shorty here ma'am." Naruto replied.

"Shut up sunshine boy." she chuckled.

"Now that Shiemi is here, we can get going." Neji interrupted.

"Yes sir!" Most of the friends joked.

Just before they could leave the school gates, Itachi yelled at them to stop and walked toward them before grabbing Shiemi's hand.

"Shiemi I have to ask you something." the older Uchiha started.

"Oh? What is it?" she smiled.

"Would you like to spend the night with us? We're having a party at Konan's tonight." Itachi explained.

Shiemi thought about for a few seconds before nodding with a grin. "Alright I'm in!"

Sasuke felt the anger boil in him. Why the hell was she so happy to spend time with his brother when she would do anything to avoid him?

Sasuke glared at his brother who didn't even looked up at him.

Instead, the older Uchiha's eyes were fixed on Shiemi's figure.

After hearing her approval, he smiled oh so sweetly and softly kissed her forehead. "See you later then, pretty." he winked before disappearing to his group of friends, leaving a blushing Shiemi behind.

The girls gasped at his gesture immediately started harassing Shiemi with questions about Itachi.

"You guys would be so cute together." Tenten whined.

For the umpteenth time, the blue eyed girl sighed and shook her head. "Stop with that already. I'm most definitely not his type. Have you seen him? He's so gorgeous that I could mistake him for a model and I look like nothing beside him!"

"Dobe shut up. I know that you know really well that you're one of the most prettiest girl at school, if not the most prettiest." Sasuke declared with an uninterested look.

After that, things got really quiet. Naruto's laugh broke it and he swung his arm around the ravenette's shoulders.

"Teme is that you're way of confessing that you like Shiemi and that you find her really pretty?" he teased.

"Naruto. Stop saying nonsenses and shut up before I make you eat the dirt." he replied with a death glare.

Nonsenses. Yeah how could I even think for a second that Uchiha could like me.

The brunette chuckled to herself and looked at the ground. Fucking forget about those feelings, Shiemi.

Nonsenses. I fucked up. I went from trying to get closer again to her but ended up digging even more the hole that separates us. Shit.
