The final day. Todoroki found a note attached to the tree, along with some flowers at the base. Daisies. The half-and-half boy suddenly remembered the very beginning of this whole ordeal, a blushing, stuttering Midoriya, embarrassed to have gotten the emotion of love. He decided to read the note, smiling to himself as he deciphered the broccoli's messy handwriting.
Dear Todoroki,
Today, the final day, might I add, belongs to me. You might remember that today's emotion is love, so I decided to take you out on a date. This might seem weird, and if you don't want to go I understand. If you do, please meet me in this spot at 12. Don't worry about getting dressed up, just make sure you're wearing something comfortable and casual.
Midoriya
Needless to say, Todoroki felt butterflies. He was going on a date! With Midoriya!!! Granted, this didn't mean that the older boy had a crush on him, but still...He went to go change, into a white t-shirt and pair of ripped jeans. He had also brought the flowers in with him, and decided to tuck one behind his ear, partially threading it through his hair so it wouldn't come loose and fall. It took him about half an hour to get the flower the way he wanted it, but he ended up being smart and asking Momo for a couple bobby pins. He fretted over his appearance for the next twenty minutes, before deciding that he should probably go to the tree. Midoriya was already there when he arrived, clad in a black t-shirt and green shorts, which complimented his hair.
"O-oh, hi Todoroki!"
"Hello, Midoriya." He said, with a small smile on his face.
"I honestly didn't think you would come!"
"Why wouldn't I have?"
"Because...well...I don't know. Anyway, I thought that to start out today we could go get lunch. Is that okay with you?"
"Of course it is."
They decided to walk to a restaurant, as it wasn't that far away, and neither of them were old enough to drive. (Apparently you have to be 18 to drive in Japan.) They talked about more random things, how they managed to come up with more things to talk about after the night before is still a mystery. Once their order was taken, Midoriya getting onigiri and Todoroki, naturally, getting cold soba, they seemed to run out of things to talk about. This resulted in them both just sitting their awkwardly, until the food came. They ate in silence, sometimes commenting on how good the food was. Midoriya insisted on paying the bill, as he was the one to take them out.
Next up was going to watch a movie. It was a movie about a completely quirkless society, and was titled: 2020 : A Year of Hell. It was staged by month, and every time the month changed, it would be announced in big white letters against a black screen. At least the movie gave them something to talk about. They got back to UA at around 4, and decided to walk around the grounds. They saw some other people on their walk, and it lasted for about an hour. They went back inside and retreated to their rooms, deciding to meet back in the kitchen at 6 to make katsudon for dinner.
They both arrived at six, and set to work. They finished at around 6:45, and enjoyed the fruit of their labors. Midoriya mentioned that he had one more thing planned, and after they ate their fill and put their plates in the dishwasher, he grabbed Todoroki's hand, leading him to the stairs. They went up, up, up, until they reached the roof. There was a picnic blanket set up, with two small pillows, some spoons, and a cooler that held multiple flavors of ice cream. Midoriya brought the two of them over to the blanket, and, sitting down, just then realized that they were still holding hands.
"Gah! I'm so sorry Todoroki!" He exclaimed, letting go of Todoroki's hand.
"It's okay Midoriya."
"No, no, no, it's not okay! I didn't ask first, you probably don't even like physical contact, oh All Might, what have I done, I messed everything up, I've ruined my chances, I-" He was interrupted by a certain ice and fire user taking both of his hands in his.
"Midoriya, it's truly okay." The greenette turned so red it would make a tomato jealous. "Now, what is this?"
"Ah, I didn't know what kind of ice cream you like, so I got a bunch. I also have a lot of spoons so we can have multiple flavors."
"Oh, well, my favorite flavor is mint, if it makes any difference."
"Ooh, mint is good! My favorite is strawberry though. I think I have mint, actually." He dug around in the cooler, and did find a pint of mint, setting it out next to a pint of strawberry.
"Thank you, Midoriya." Todoroki responded, grabbing the mint and a spoon. Midoriya followed suit, but with the strawberry. They ate their ice cream, Midoriya remembering that he had yet to tell Todoroki about the cryptic cheese message story. Todoroki laughed, and it was quite possibly the most angelic sound the smaller boy had ever heard. The human candy cane then recounted his own cryptic cheese message story, which left both of them in fits of laughter. When they calmed down, Midoriya closed his ice cream and flopped down, his head hitting one of the pillows. Todoroki did the same, and they gazed up at the now starry sky.
"The stars are beautiful tonight." The freckled boy commented.
"Yes, they are. My mother used to teach me the constellations, would you like me to point some out?"
"I would love that, Todoroki."
"The ones I can see right now are the Big Dipper, the Little Dipper, and Orion's Belt. See?"
"Yeah." He smiled contentedly, looking up at the sky. Todoroki decided that this would be the perfect moment, where things could either go completely right, or completely wrong.
"Hey, Midoriya?"
"Yes, Todoroki?"
"I have to tell you something."
"What is it?" He asked, looking at the scarred male with curiosity, who suddenly found an interest in a supposed snag in the blanket.
"Okay, how do I say this? I-I have feelings for you. Like, romantic feelings. If you don't accept these, that's okay. I just...wanted you to know." He looked up, and was met with the shining eyes of Izuku Midoriya.
"Why didn't you say anything sooner?!" A pair of lips was suddenly on his, and the aforementioned boy sprung back. "OhmygoshI'msosorryIshouldhaveaskedforconsentwhatifthiswasyourfirstkissI'msosorry!!!"
"Midoriya, it's okay." Todoroki took the initiative this time, and placed his lips back on the other boy's. When they broke apart, he whispered; "I'm glad my first kiss was you."
It was both of their first kisses, and neither regretted it. They never forgot that day, and were quickly made official. Oh, and Todoroki? He's much better at acting games now.
Oh my gosh, I can't believe I finally finished this. It's been what, 11 months? For 15 chapters? Some writer I am. Anyway, I hope you liked this. Is there anything you want to see next? I need i d e a s, preferably from my audience. I hope you have a wonderful morning/afternoon/day/night/life lovelies! Signing off, Abigail.
