Neptune felt like the coolest person in existence. Exams were done, he had gotten a bonus after hitting top sales for the last quarter at his family's hardware store and was off for the weekend. Life was good. Actually, it was perfect. He had finally gotten his driving permit last week too.

He'd already called the boys and they were ready for this weekend's treat. Neptune didn't mind treating the guys since he usually did anyway. Besides, this weekend was even more special than normal. They'd go to Lucky's, order the best food and dessert in the country to gorge themselves on. He was so thrilled that his father had lent him his Benz to go on a drive. These rewards that he shared with his friends were the result of his hard work.

They'd chosen the Chinese menu which was served portions only. Neptune had calculated that the meals was just over TTD 1,000 but he didn't mind at all. This was a friendship feast. They'd all studied and spent time together over the past year. They'd become brothers. He had a smile on his face when he looked up and saw Holly. She immediately smiled in return and waved before heading to the takeout area. He sighed knowing that Holly disliked his boys.

He left to look for her. He had enough time to casually bump into pretty Holly and strike up a conversation, but she'd disappeared. Disappointed, his steps were slow as he headed back to his booth at the end of the hall. He was about to round the wall when he heard Holly scold his crew. He was about to step in when Marky said, "Girl, Neptune ain't nobody. I and everyone only here to eat out all he money. We get through with he study notes and answers and with he wallet easy easy. Right fellas?" Neptune was frozen as he heard them all laugh and confidently bash Holly. "If you want the man we not stopping you. Once we getting to eat and we lil ride in he rich car? I good."

Neptune rounded the corner and made sure they saw him. The silence was sharp in the lively restaurant. "I'll get the bill. And it'll be the last one." When he exited Lucky's he saw Holly with a sad face behind him. "I need to go for a ride, "he said. She smiled sadly and said, "I'm sorry Neptune." As he drove off he realised that her apology made him feel better but he still felt like a fool.

He never forgot that lesson. True friends don't just accept gifts. They return them too.
