"Are you sure about this?" Amita asked. I looked at her, I tried to speak, but theirs no words that came out. I sighed. She is sitting in the stalls of my counter in my kitchen as I continue to cook a chicken pasta soup for my youngest daughter whose been sick for two days now.
"You know, it will be really tough for you and your kids. They are still young you know. You think they can take all this in?" She added. I turn off the stove and look at her. "I already made up my mind, Amita. I am done."
"My kids will understand it, I know it selfish, but nothing will change."
"Nothing will change?" she mocked.
"Can you just support me?"
"Of course I will, babe." I smiled. She got up from her seat and get a bowl so she can eat some of my chicken pasta soup.
Amita is my only true best friend ever since college along with Veronica. I met Veronica first in one of my classes, she is fun to be with, very well-spoken, and we view things in the same way. Until we met, Amita. She entered the picture when we were in the second year of med school, she was different from me and Veronica, she is so outgoing, but we really connect to each other. The three of us become doctors, and we do our job without anything return. We love to do charity; we help fight the poverty and malnutrition of kids and elderly people. That is our bonding.
Looking back, make my heart happy from those days, it was gold from me.
"So what's your plan?" Amita asked.
"Divorce," I said, and she nods.
'It's a good thing you make him sign a prenup before." She smirked.
"I know." I smirked back."
"Will you tell her?"
I look at her and think. "No, I'll definitely surprise her. She thinks I don't know yet, it's been going on for two years and I already know since when it started."
"Took you two years to finally do this?"
"No, I just gather some more evidence to send them both into prison. I will make sure they will both regret what they did to me."
"That's my girl!" she said and hugged me.
"Hey, guys! Sorry, I'm late." Out attention suddenly directed to the girl who just came.
"No, your just in time Veronica!" Amita said.
"So what did I miss?" she asked.
"Nothing much, we are just talking about stuff," Amita said, smiling and have a glance at me.
"What kind of stuff then?"
"It's wife stuff, you'll never understand it. When will you get married, huh?" I jokingly asked.
She chuckles, she looks at me and then Amita.
"Girls.." she exhaled. "I'm pregnant!'
"What?!" I and Amita look at each other and shocked.
We both hugged Veronica, "Congratulations, Ver. I am so happy for you. Finally." I said.
