(Y/N) is now seventeen years old. The years have gone by so fast and (Y/N) has grown to be as beautiful as her mother when we first met. Charlie has now taken over the factory and everything is going perfectly. (Y/N) works hard in school and has good grades. She hasn't got a boyfriend yet which I'm thankful of. I know Alexander has a girlfriend who had joined their group of three but Peggy and (Y/N) are single.

My worry about a boyfriend grew when I heard that their school was hosting a second prom. (Y/N) never went to the first one because no one asked her and she didn't want to go anyway. Although I do feel she was keeping something from me even before the prom announcement. I think (Y/N) has a boyfriend but she isn't telling me. I approached her as she was studying for her classes.

"So, I've heard that there is another prom at your school," I said, "are you going this time?"

"Actually, I have a date," (Y/N) said smiling.

"I see. And do I know your date?"

"Y-yeah, you do."

That stutter worried me, "so, who's the lucky guy?"

"Dad, I have something to tell you. But promise you won't be mad."

"Why would I be mad?"

(Y/N) went to the kitchen and brought out a cake. It was a rainbow cake with the words 'not as straight as the edges of this cake'. At first, I didn't understand until I realized what she was trying to tell me.

"(Y/N)?" I wanted confirmation.

"I-I'm lesbian," (Y/N) said confirming what I thought, "look, I'm sorry if I made you disappointed. If it makes you happy, I can try to be straight so you don't have to be ashamed."

"Now why would I be ashamed? I think this is wonderful news. I can never be disappointed in you. I don't care if you're gay, straight or transgender, I will always love you because you are my daughter."

"So, you're not mad?"

"Absolutely not."

(Y/N) hugged me smiling and I hugged her back. I promised Kate I'd look after her and love her no matter what and I intend to keep that promise. And I don't care that (Y/N) is a lesbian. I love my daughter and no one can tell me otherwise. I asked her who her date was to prom and it was Peggy. I never imagined Peggy being lesbian but I know her well enough to know that she will take care of (Y/N) and (Y/N) will take care of her.

(Y/N) said she would make her dress instead of buying a proper one but I didn't argue. On the night of her prom, I finally got to see her in her prom dress. She looked like a female version of me! This is taking prom to another level. To complete the look, I gave her my top hat. My candy girl. I dropped her off at the party and let her enjoy herself.

(Y/N)'s POV:

I went into school and went to find Peggy. I'm so happy my dad approves of me being a lesbian. I didn't doubt that he wouldn't because he's a nice man but I was scared that he wouldn't approve. I soon found Peggy and we greeted each other happily.

"So, have you told your dad about us?" Peggy asked.

"Yes and he's fine with it," I told her smiling, "have you told your parents?"

"Absolutely not! My parents wouldn't be happy!"

"You don't know that. Look, let's just have a good night and we'll think about it later."

We had a blast. We danced, ate, drank and just had a great time. After prom, Peggy and I walked back home and talked some more. Once we got to the gates, I shared my first kiss with Peggy. When we separated, we bid each other goodnight and I went inside.

"So, how was my candy girl's first prom?" Dad asked smiling.

"Amazing!" I said smiling.

"Well, considering what I saw outside, I'd say it was."

I almost choked on air, "you... saw that?"

He hummed and nodded his head, "I saw. You really love her, don't you?"

"I love her more than anything in this life. Hell, I'd always choose her happiness over mine!"

"Because I'm happy for you, I will ignore the fact you said 'hell'."

"Sorry. I forgot that you don't like swearing or bad words."

"It's alright. I understand how you feel about Peggy because that's how I felt when I met your mother."

"You never talk about mum."

"I know but that's enough about that. Tell me about your night."

I told him everything and he smiled throughout my whole story. I know dad has never been to a prom so I guess this was exciting for him. I then asked him something risky; if he would ever start dating again. He told me he probably wouldn't because he's getting to the age where he can't date anymore. He's only forty-six, he can still try to date.

I know that dad was heartbroken after mum's death and I want him to be happy and in a relationship again. But I can't make him do anything because it's his choice, not mine. Peggy and I dated for years after the prom and dad was happy to see me happy. Peggy did come out to her parents and thankfully they were fine with it but they weren't fine with our secret relationship.

I soon asked for her parents' permission to propose to Peggy and they said yes. And so did Peggy. Our wedding day was also the day I first saw my dad cry. Peggy and I did adopt a few kids and wow did dad spoil them rotten. That's dad. That's Willy Wonka.

And I'm proud to call myself the daughter of Willy Wonka.
