tony pov (yay it's back!!)

day of escape

afghan caves

tony wrapped the bandages around his hands.

this was it. this was was the past three months have led up to. three months filled with torture, stuck in a cave, working behind their captors back to create this. the 'mark i'.

there was a plan.

they'd stick to it. yinsen would finally be able to go home and meet his family. tony would finally be able to see his daughter again. all they had to do was stick to the plan.

the sound of yinsen raising the chest armor resonated across the cave cell. he helped tony put his jacket on. he wore heavy duty gloves along with some extra chest protection.

tony kept the pinky ring that was strung on a necklace on. it was the only thing the terrorists left on him. they probably didn't see anything special. but to tony, it was the most important thing in the world. he kissed the ring, before tucking it in safely.

the suit would be very heavy. it's made from recycled weapons. weapons, that tony made himself. looking at the suit in it's stand he made a decision. and tony wasn't going to turn on his decision.

tony looked down at his miniaturized arc reactor. it's electromagnetic pulse was the only thing keeping him alive. if it weren't for it, the shrapnel would've already entered his heart months ago, and he would've been dead.

tony went behind the makeshift wall they made. it was a little booth that would hide him from the cameras.

yinsen used the pulley system and lowered the chest piece of the armor over him. there was a small cut out hole where tony's arc reactor stuck out.

"okay?" yinsen began fixing up tony's suit. "can you move?"

"mhmm," tony hummed in response.

yinsen began working on his arms, and how his fingers would move in the suit, "okay, say it again."
