"Mmmmhh'' Katie said as the plates came out for supper. "Cold ham, potatoes baked in their jackets, tomato soup a jolly scrumptious salad." Katie exclaimed excitedly. Dolly however was not impressed, "Ew, cold ham." Eva automatically said. "I know, disgusting right." Dolly nodded approvingly, but Daffy was not fooled. Just moments before Eva was grabbing pounds of ham for her plate. Ivy didn't have an appetite. Normally she would chat with Faith and sometimes Edith. When Violet was desperate, she might talk to Ivy, but Faith was in quarantine for a dreadful cough, Edith was going to arrive late because of a funeral and spoiled Violet was still on vacation for an extra week. Bitterly sad by the lack of conversation, Ivy pushed away her potato's and even her tomato soup. Katie saw the sad look on Ivy's face and said "Hallo old girl, you doing all right?" "Im fine, just miss Faith and Edith. At least Violet might talk with me." Ivy said gloomily.

To Ivy's glee, Katie started chatting with her and they had a most pleasant conversation about there vacations. Daffy was not so happy to see her best friend chatting away with boring old Ivy. Whatever, Daffy thought, at least Bobbie was her friend. Everyone had pretty much grouped up and Eva was left attempting to butt into Dolly and Annabel's conversation. "Where did you get that necklace?" Dolly asked in delight. "I got it from my grammy for my birthday." Annabel said proudly. "Dolly, what jewelry do you have?!" Eva butted in. Dolly, eager for a chance to talk about herself said, "Oh I got loads for my birthday but I don't want to boast you know." Eva smiled eagerly but Annabel rolled her eyes, quite annoyed with Eva. Always popping up and butting in with every conversation she and Dolly had, Annabel thought irritably. "Dolly, would you like to share a mince pie with me?" Annabel said, holding out a juicy pie, bubbling with deliciousness.

"I didn't know Mince pies were on the menu!" Dolly said, careful not to drool. "Oh I brought it myself." Annabel said proudly. "Aren't you not aloud to eat outside food during the feast?" Eva snapped, quite jealous of the delicious pie herself. "Know one has to know.'' Annabel said slyly. I have got to do something about her, Eva thought as she saw Annabel and Dolly, giggling with juicy mince pie dribbling down their chins, And quick!
