Camryn
I sat in the courtyard with the soft breeze piercing my bare ankles. I usually came out here to get some peace and quite and regain my thoughts.
Today was the first game of our sixth year. It was Slytherin against Gryffindor and I wasn't quite sure I was ready.
Oliver and I had been dating for two years now. It was great, but it was hard sometimes. We were both captains of our Quidditch teams, which meant we had to put aside feelings for each game.
"You know, if you would just ask me, I would gladly come out here and be your company." A soft voice cooed in the distance.
I looked up to see Oliver walking over.
"Hey, Ollie!" Since we started dating, he would often come to sit with me out here.
"Ready for quidditch?" He asked this lightly. He knew it was still a touchy subject to me when we had to go against each other.
He sat next to her under the tree and leaned on my shoulder.
I looked down at him and smiled. But, I was confident my team would win today.
"I'm so ready to beat your arse!" I say shoving him over onto the ground.
He pulls me down with him and we stay there for a moment, laughing and interlacing out fingers.
"Yeah, is that so?" He asks behaving to tickle me. "Admit it, love. I'm the better captain."
"No! No, please stop!" I say, giggles constantly escaping my lips as I begged him to stop tickling me.
"Ok, ok. Meet me in the common room after the match, though. Mm?" He questions, letting me go.
"Yes, of course, my love." I say, kissing him as he gets up to go get ready.
I watched him walk away and let my thoughts flutter back to me.
I started to think of what my family might be up to. Maybe they were with the Malfoy's.
They were both death eaters, after all. I had gotten quite used to meetings at their house. I dreaded the day they would expect me to be involved.
Over the past summers, after my second year, my family would spend most of their time at the Malfoy manner. I always stayed away. Although I was a Slytherin, I wanted nothing to do with them. Not even Draco. Especially not Draco.

"Come on you guys! Face your attention up here!" I shouted. No one was listening to me. The whole Slytherin team was blabbering on about how Draco was going to "knock Harry off his broom".
"Bloody hell, would you all shut up!" Every head turned to face me. "Thank you," I cleared my throat, "now, although knocking Harry off his broom sounds rather interesting, that's not what we need to focus on right now." I order, watching everyone to make sure their listening.
"I don't remember asking." Draco scoffs. Everyone laughs and I can feel my face getting red with anger.
"Really?" I say cooley, leaning my arm on my broom. "Just because you have daddy's money doesn't make you in charge. I will have you off this team and begging to be let back on faster than you can wipe that smirk off your face." He said nothing. "Now," I say, directing my attention back to everyone, "listen up please."
As I explained the plan and technique we would need to be using for this match, I could tell I was boring everyone.
"Do you guys want to win or not? Come on, your all better than that." Adrian complained, smacking Flint on the back of the head for talking over me. I laughed and gave him a high five.
He was my co-captain and someone I would consider a friend.
"Pucey, why don't you shut up?" Draco growled, making everyone's attention now turn to him. "This is why me and my father think I should've been captain. Not only is there a pathetic excuse of a player leading our team, but a girl." Draco sneered at me.
That was it.
"Ok ferret boy," I lunge towards him and point my wand at his throat. He starts to whine and breath heavily. "keep talking, go on." He looks at me with pure horror written on his face.
"That's what I thought." I sneered down at the younger boy in front of me, letting go of him and dropping him to the ground.
As I redirected my attention to the rest of the team, Crabbe and Goyle frantically hurried to help Draco off the ground.
"Ok, is everyone ready?" I put my hand out, signaling for everyone else to do the same. "Ready, repeat after me.." I began to say our lucky chant and they all repeated. The cheer ended in loud cheers and I could feel myself getting excited for this game.
———————
"Duck!" I heard Adrian's voice in the distance and immediately obeyed his command when I saw a angry bludgar coming straight toward my face.
When I straightened myself back up, I saw Draco and Harry chasing the snitch at a fast speed down below.
I watched as they dispersed into the fog and rain.
"Harry Potter has caught the snitch! Gryffindor wins!" The crowd erupted in cheers as I lowered my broom an dismounted.
Great.
I would have to face Oliver knowing that we lost against him and his team. Sometimes I wish I were a lot more than just a year older than Potter, then maybe we'd stand a chance.
"Hey, Cam!" I turned my shoulder to see Oliver jogging toward me. "Good game." He stuck he hand out to me.
Instead of grabbing it, to his surprise, I put my arms around his neck and kissed him. We stood in the middle of the field and it was like there was no one else in the world anymore.
"I guess that's the best congratulations I could've asked for." He still had a surprised look on his face.
"Oh shut up. You guys did good today, but I will say, if Draco wasn't so snobby all the time we would've won. We were already up by 60 anyway." I stared into his eyes and bit my lip, trying to hold back a laugh.
"Camryn..your so beautiful." He was staring right back at me. My arms were still around his neck and I was getting lost in his big brown eyes.
"I love you." I was speechless.
"You..what?"
"I love you, Camryn Stout.
I moved my hands down to his face and cradled it. "I love you too, Oliver Wood."
Before I could say another word, his lips crashed into mine. We kissed for what felt like hours until it began to pour again.
We stared at each other for a moment before interlacing our fingers and running for the building.
After many moments of laughing and tripping several times, we arrived at the side entrance.
We walked back to the common room, hand in hand, silent. It was a comfortable silence.
"I can't believe I finally worked up the courage to tell you that, Cam." He broke the silence just as we were nearing the common room.
I turned to him and stopped him from walking. "I'm glad you did. I can't imagine being with anyone else, Ollie." I giggled at his nickname because I knew he hated it.
"Camryn, you know I hate that nickname." He was frowning now, looking like he was trying his hardest not to smile.
"Catch me if you can!" I started running down the corridor to the portrait as fast as I could. I was laughing the whole way, watching him stumble running after me.
When he reached me at the portrait, he hugged me and then whispered the password.
I decided that tonight I would stay in the Gryffindor girls dorm. Hermione and I had become quite close over the years.
I kissed him goodnight and went up to bed, happy knowing that I had someone who loved me.
I had Oliver.
