I've been in this stupid foster home for 5 years and I'm so ready to get out. I'm tired of getting abused, I'm tired of hiding all of my bruises and scars. I never tell anyone what Brenda (my foster mother) does to me because she will probably kill me before help comes.I walk home from school blasting music thinking about how I will eventually run away. Once I finally get to my house I take a big deep breath and open the door.
"Hello?" I say to the empty hallway. Then the sound of high heels hitting the wooden floor sounds and its getting closer and closer.
"Luccyyy!" she roars turning the corner.
My heart starts to pound, I see the vodka bottle in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
"Yes foster mother?" I say politely.
She comes closer she looks at me up and down then *Bam* she slapped me right on the face. I hold back the tears as I feel the blood run down my cheek.
"That's what you get for being ugly." she mumbles.
I run to my room, shut the door and run to my mirror and see the blood run out of the 5 scratches from her fake nails and they slide over the blue and purple bruse throbbing on my cheek. I get a wash cloth and dab off the blood lightly, thinking of what lie I'm going to use to cover this up. I skip dinner then shake and cry myself to sleep.
