"Watashi no musukotachi yo." Splinter spoke.
"Are you like... a ghost?" Mikey whimpered.
"My spirit has become detached from my body, but that body still lives." The wise, tall rat said. Leo stood up, making (Y/N) pout a little.
"You're... alive?" Leo asked. "Where are you, Sensei? Let us help you!"
"You cannot yet." He told them. "There is much you must overcome. If you cannot find your inner, spiritual strength, you will not stand a chance against the Shredder."
"But, Master Splinter, my leg injury, it-it's physical. Until I heal..." Leo said, looking down shamefully. Splinter placed a hand on his shoulder, making him look back up again.
"We choose what holds us back and what moves us forward." He said, his voice echoing in the woods. He removed his hand and Leo nodded, sitting back down. "You will all learn this. Each of you must journey out alone, to face your spiritual adversary.
"Raphael, your temper is like a fire that you must learn to focus for power." Splinter spoke. Raph bowed his head. A blue spark flew by and it caught Mikey's attention.
"Michelangelo, your mind is overrun with distractions." He looked back up at the rat spirit. "Learn to be strong and calm, like the forest." Mikey nodded his head with a stern look.
"Donatello," Donnie put his phone down. "You rely too much on your mind, and not on your body. Be strong, like the mountain." He nodded.
"(Y/N) (L/N), now that you have recognized the new addition from your inner beast, don't let it be the antagonist. Learn to become allies with it, make it your fifth limb." She bowed her head.
"Leonardo, you must be the leader in body and spirit. Be like the wind; let nothing weigh you down." Leo put on his confidence face.
"Sleep now, my pupils." Splinter says. "For your greatest trial awaits on the spiritual plane. For the challenges you face there will be just as deadly as those you face in the real world." The blue fire flew up, covering Splinter's figure. When it flowed down and he disappeared, a voice echoed. "Be warned..."
Everyone sat in silence as the fire turned back to yellow-orange, staring at places with touched expressions. Mikey wiped a tear from his eye, and (Y/N) couldn't keep her eyes off the spot where her beauty mark is, looking like she's staring at the ground. Leo looked up at the place where Splinter's face was at, then looked back down at the fire.
The next morning, when the fire was nothing but smoke and charred wood, everyone slowly woke up other than Leo, who was already up and ready. (Y/N) uncurled from her little ball with a groan. Mikey stretched dramatically as soon as he woke up, and everyone else woke up normally.
"Wow, that was deep..." Mikey said, rubbing his head.Leo was standing at the tree that was a foot away from the campsite. When he found everyone was awake, he spoke. "Master Splinter made out quest clear." He turned with a stern and serious face. "It's time we begin, ninjas."
Everyone went to seperate makeshift stations around the forest, gearing up in new uniforms. "Each of us with forge new armor and weapons, then journey out alone, where we'll be challenged in the spirit realm: the place where the unreal becomes real, and where we meet our ultimate fate."
(Y/N) created her animal fur armor with stone shoulder plates, high short skirt with leather leggings underneath going down to her calves, along with fur boots with a stone bottom part. She covered her stone chestplate with fur, and marked black lines across her bare waist. She made a symbol that labeled her beauty mark on her cheek, and wore a big cloth scarf that drapes behind her and covers her nose and mouth. Her weapon was a double-bladed sword, with the Hamato clan symbol marked on both blades in (F/C). She spun the weapon around and stood in battle position, then smirked and dashed to the others.
Leo was interrupted with a flag in his hand when he noticed her outfit. He couldn't stop glancing at her waist every once in a while, and his face was very red. Focus, Leo, fooocussss... He shook it off and stabbed the flagpole to the ground.Everyone was gathered around the handmade flag with Japanese kanji written on it. They all had their eyes closed and they meditated calmly. Well, except for Mikey, who was eating some of his travel pizza. (Y/N) tried her best not to smack herself in the face with her palm.
"Mikey, stay focused!" Raph commanded. "Remember what Master Splinter said? The things we're gonna fight are just as dangerous as Shredder."
Mikey looked down at his pizza and shook his head. He threw it deeper into the woods."Hope you like pizza, you lucky magic deer!" He yelled. He got back into meditation.
Leo opened his eyes a few moments later. "It's time." He softly spoke. Raph and (Y/N) nodded firmly. They all put their arms against their sides. "Good luck, everyone. Kentou o." He bowed to them, and they did too.
"Kentou o."
And everyone went their seperate ways.
(Y/N) was perched up in the trees, jumping from one to another before jumping down and running into a wall of fog. She stopped and looked around it suspiciously. Fear was about to wash over her, until she took a deep breath and exhaled. She walked in, and she was transported into the spirit plane.
The atmosphere emanated a small tint of (F/C), and she was on a huge rock in the middle of a river. She almost toppled over when she found her surroundings. Specks of glowing spirit dust floated in the sky, and the cheek tentacle unexpectedly yanked her down, creating a crack underneath her feet. She growled and slapped herself, but it didn't go back.
With her slightly sensitive hearing, she detected unusual footsteps in the water, coming from all around her. She frantically looked around to see footbots jumping onto the rocks that surrounded her surface."Well, god diddly dammit." She mumbled, taking out her double blades. The tentacle went back into her cheek. "Oh, you REALLY had to do that when I needed you the most." She snarled at her cheek before blocking the swing of a sword.
The fight was still taking place on her rock for a little, when the cheek tentacle keeps stabbing at the crack, causing her attacks to become wonky. Scratches were all over her arms and waist, but she still fought. Up until the rock broke in half, and all the fake footbots disappeared into dust. She fell and crashed into the rubble, bruises all over. Drops of blood covered the spot she fell on, and she groaned. She had to swim out of the river (on the plus side she washed down her wounds, but it hurt so much it got her wincing), grab some leaves and rope from her boots, and bandaged herself.
"I just hope the leaves aren't poisonous..." She mumbled. She got up from the ground and hitchhiked down the river for a while, then she came across another wall of fog. Without a second thought, she walked straight in. It lead her to a cave entrace, with a little stream of water running down it.
"Man, seriously?" She complained, but shook her head. "Alright... listen to the wise rat master..." She inhaled, and sighed, closing her eyes and meditating. Specks of mystic (F/C)-tinted light spun around her, making her hair flow. Then her tentacle showed up again. It pointed down the cave, making the sparkles stop spinning. She didn't open her eyes as she walked forward, feeling the void creature show her the way.
Sure, she tripped slightly every once in a while, but she didn't run into any walls. Then some light was glowing brighter and brighter through her eyelids. She opened her eyes to see a huge cavern space with water flowing up to a hole in the upper area. She cocked her head a little. Then something socked her in the face. She pulled out her weapon swiftly, but she got an idea in mind. She went into the shadows where the light from the hole can't reach, and watched as the shadows aimlessly swiped the air. At the right time, she locked a fist into her hands and threw the figure into the light. The figure was... familiar to (Y/N). He wore an all black robe with a dark green mask, the only thing not covering is the eyeholes and the mouth. It smirked and got back up.
"Do you know who I am?" It asked, with a thick Asian accent.
"S-some sort of dream person from the spirit plane?" She asked, pointing one blade at it. For some reason, it chuckled.
"Oh (Y/N) (L/N), aren't you quite scatterbrained at times?" It removed its mask to show a face with pitch black eyes. "It's good to see my little teacher's pet never changed..."
She gasped.
"SENSEI HAJIMARI?!"
