BRUMOUS ( present)
Damaris's castle was in the city of Brumous, where the land never had a single day full of sunshine. the region was always covered with clouds and black angels roamed the sky to protect the city from any outsiders. it was his region, where all the black angels were banished to.
it had been almost 7 years now since Luhan was brought here. he was grateful that Kris and Tao followed him that unfortunate night because if they didn't, he has no idea how he would've survived these 7 years. not a day passed, when he didn't think about Sehun, the urge to just run to him was so strong that once he even tried to go past the castle boundaries and was severely hurt by the protection spell around the castle.
tao and kris had to clean his wounds and take care of him for a while after that stunt he pulled. but as time passed Luhan realized that him being so helpless and waiting to be saved was not at all going to help him. so for the past 4 years, he made sure that he made himself stronger. just last year he finally gained Damaris's trust and the three of them were moved to the main castle.
they made sure that Damaris trusted them and thinks that Luhan developed feelings for him and was willing to become his partner. it has been over a year now, according to the plan, the seventh year would be the one they will make their first attempt to escape. kris was given the privilege to have access to the castle library and Tao knew what training the guards were receiving since Damaris liked Tao's knowledge about martial arts and other fighting skills, and made him one of the generals who trained the guards.
the three of them knew that once the time comes for their escape there can be no mistakes. they have worked so hard to gain Damaris's trust and if they failed in their attempt to escape, all their hard work will go down the drain. Luhan still wasn't the queen but people around the castle and the people of Brumous, already regarded him as their queen, people will always bow down whenever he passed by. Kris and Tao were known to be the right and left hand of the queen so even their status among the subjects of Brumous was very high.
Luhan was sitting on his bed in his chamber, the room was very lavishly decorated but Luhan never found it beautiful. in the beginning, Damaris wanted Luhan to move into his chamber, but Luhan denied the offer. how could he bear to share the same room and bed with the person who separated him from the one he loved. Luhan clearly declared his wishes that he didn't want to share the same chamber as Damaris's since he wanted to do that only after the wedding. Damaris agreed to him and gave him another chamber for himself.
Luhan was greatly relieved when Damaris agreed to it. He had to lie in order to get that but he was happy that Damaris didn't see through the lie.
Kris entered Luhan's room with some books he borrowed from the library. " How is the plan going? " Luhan asked, not looking at Kris. " It is set all we have to do is to look for the right time. We have to make sure that we get out of the premises as soon as we can since only then will we be able to use our powers. " Kris sat in the nearby chair and crossed his arms. " I'm sorry I wasn't able to convince Damaris to break the spell. " Luhan said, he stood up and walked towards the window. He looked at the training grounds where he could see that Damaris was talking to his generals, including Tao.
"it's not your fault, you have already done enough, we should've expected that he won't break the spell before your coronation." kris assured his friend. " don't even talk about the coronation, I don't even want to think about it. the nearer the dates get the more I want to kill myself. " Luhan replied, disgust laced in his voice. " you know, Tao told me that Damaris went to the Lee Mansion." kris said, he started making some tea to calm Luhan, after the coronation topic he could see that Luhan was visibly much more tensed. " yeah, I got to know about it. Damaris was somewhat very proud while telling me about his visit to the Lee mansion, I don't know why he thought I would be impressed. " Luhan took the cup of tea that Kris offered and sat on his bed.
