Klaus led me to his bedroom and I raised my eyebrows at him.
He just laughed and told me to sit down with his gorgeous accent. I sat on the bed and he sat down next to me.
"You'll have to stay the night," he explained, "To find a way to reach Rumridge I need to analyze your dream. Every case is different you see."
"So you do this a lot?" I asked.
"Yeah," he shrugged.
"Ok, let me call my mum."
He politely left the room as I dialed my mums number.
"Hello," She answered quickly.
"Hi mum," I greeted, "I was wondering if I could stay at a friends house tonight."
"A friend?" She questioned. I knew what she was thinking, I have no friends. But she was kind enough not to mention that and agreed it was ok. I think she was happy that I was making friends.
"Thank you so much mum," I replied gratefully as I hung up.
Klaus walked back in to the room.
"I'm going to make some dinner while you settle in, you can sleep here tonight. So is mac and cheese alright?"
"Sounds great."
"Sorry that I'm not much of a cook."
I just rolled my eyes, "I'm too starving to care if it tastes bad."
"Ok well I'll go cook it. You can wear some of my clothes to bed if you want."
I smiled gratefully as I looked at my skinny jeans, which I definitely couldn't sleep in. "Thank you, these clothes are so uncomfortable."
He left the room and I got changed into one of Klaus' largest grey t-shirts that hung almost to my knees, so I didn't bother wearing pants. I took my hair out of its messy bun and let it hang loose around my shoulders.
I could smell macaroni cheese wafting into the room so i walked out and down the hall until I reached the kitchen. Klaus was at the stove, stirring the dinner.
He looked up at me as I walked in.
"You look good in my clothes," he commented, his cheeks slightly pink from the hot stove making him look even cuter.
"You look pretty good in them too," I blurted out. I looked down at my feet, embarrassed I had said that so sincerely, when he was obviously joking around.
"Thank you." He said smiling at my flustered face.
I tried to roll my eyes to show I was joking, but it looked like I was having a weird spasm with my eyeballs.
"You alright love?" Klaus asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. Is dinner ready," I said quickly changing the subject.
"Yep, here's yours," he said while scooping a serving into a bowl.
"Looks pretty good for someone who considers themselves a bad chef," I remarked.
"Just eat it before you start throwing around compliments," He laughed.
We ate around his tv, and we got to know a little more about each other.
I told him where I went to school, about my talents, my hobbies, that kind of thing, while he told me more about this new world I was a part of.
"The world we come from is called Plutopolus. The planet Pluto originates from Plutopolus because Pluto was where our kind first landed when they travelled to the solar system earth belongs to. It took a few times before they got it right and landed on earth." Klaus informed me.
"So, do I have a family there?" I asked.
"Probably. If they haven't died fighting in war," He said sadly, "we've lost a lot of Gentling's in war."
"Oh, how come I'm on earth, not Pluto land," I asked confused.
"Plutopolus," he corrected laughing, "you were sent here when you were born. All Gentling's are, I was. We don't dream on Plutopolus, and dreaming is an essential part of the task. You need to dream to access the portal."
He paused, making sure I understood.
"That's why I have to watch you tonight, we need to figure out where the portal is."
"Well it's a good thing I'm tired," I said yawning. However, I was still scared to go back to the nightmare land I know knew was Rumridge.
"Ok, well lets go get you to bed then shall we," he said as he got up and took our bowls to the kitchen.
I slowly got up off the couch and trailed back to the master bedroom, getting cosy in the large king sized bed. Klaus walked in a few minutes later.
"Haley, I don't want to upset you or offend you but I have to sleep next to you and hold your hand so I can travel into the dream and search for the loophole in the dream, some mistake or portal that let's us get through." Klaus said quietly.
"It's fine," I said, really meaning it. I was actually relieved someone would be there with with me in the nightmare so maybe it wouldn't be so scary.
With that Klaus hoped into bed, but not without first removing his shirt. He had an amazing body and I think I literally had my jaw hanging open as I stared in awe.
"What's wrong with me?" He pouted as he saw me goggling at him.
I moved a little closer to him in the bed.
"Absolutely nothing." I whispered.
My eyelids flickered and started to droop, so Klaus grabbed my hand.
Once again the world around me started to fade, and turning into what I now knew as Rumridge.
Except this time I wasn't alone.
