Rachel's POV
Rachel Dare stared at the girl wearing a bright orange cardigan with hear long black hair bouncing on her back as she headed up to the porch and into the Big House. It wasn't her strong demeanor that arises her suspicions about the girl, it was the fact that she couldn't see past those gray eyes.
"You look upset, Rachel." Piper McLean commented in a worried tone.
"There's something strange about that girl."
"What if she's like Leo and me? She had a satyr for a coach or a teacher and she just didn't know about it which is why she was able to survive all those years."
"Maybe." she mumbled under her breath, the place where Tina Duncan had told her she had come from still lingering in her mind like a massive boulder levitating in the air and one wrong move will make it fall on her.
"And besides, Chiron is already talking to her, I'm sure if she's anyone with a wrong agenda he'll be the first to find out." Jason added with a reassurance.
"You're right," Rachel heaved out a sigh. "But I still need to talk to Annabeth. You guys seen her?"
"I think I saw her going to the armory earlier." Piper answered with a shrug. Rachel bid them goodbye and headed to the armory.
When she got there, a blonde girl with a tough posture, wearing the same orange shirt everyone in the camp wears, was hunched on a small work bench cleaning her dagger with a grim expression on her face.
"Annabeth," Rachel called out in a heavy tone. "I know this is not the right time. But there's something that you should know."
Annabeth turned to her old friend with a look of confusion as if this is the first time that she's hearing those words from Rachel Dare again.
"What's wrong?" she said in a wary voice as she stood up and walked towards the doorway where Rachel stood.
"A girl arrived today without a guardian and she claims she's from Epirus."
"Epirus?" Annabeth exclaimed. "How is she still alive?"
"That's what's bothering me. She also looked around your age."
"How did she survive all these years?" Annabeth asked with furrowed eyebrows. The two of them remained silent for a couple of seconds when all of sudden Annabeth looked up as if realizing something.
"The Roman camp where Jason came from! Camp Jupiter. She must've come from there."
"She never mentioned that." Rachel said with a frown. "Either she's not from there or she's lying."
"We should let Jason take a look at her, maybe he'll recognize her or something." Annabeth declared but was surprised when Rachel shook her head with a sad look on her face.
"Jason already saw her, he didn't seem to recognize her. Maybe she's not from that camp." Rachel said with a sigh. "But something about her bothers me, Annabeth, I just don't know what. I thought you should take a look at her and maybe you can find it."
Annabeth nodded at her with furrowed eyebrows. "Where is she?"
"She's talking to Chiron now. I almost forgot, when I met her she said she wanted to talk to Chiron first."
"She knows Chiron?" Annabeth asked to which Rachel nodded.
"It seems like it. But how she knows him, I don't know."
"The more I hear about this girl, the less I trust her." Annabeth grunted. "I have to see her. She may be a big threat to the camp like Gaea."
