My name is Kia, Kia Washington I'm 18 and a senior in high school I'm from Chicago better known as "Chiraq", yea I've seen it all from killings to robberies but even with all this drama and commotion I am able to remain positive and succeed. I'm the top student in my class I never skipped school and I always do as I am told. I live with my mom she maid for this rich couple in the daytime and at night she cleans offices We moved to "O Block" when I was 12. We used to live with my dad in Alabama he got killed in a car accident we lost everything my mom had to move us back here. I'm basically at home alone all the time but I don't mind it and I'm sure that I'm focused because I know that's what my dad would of wanted I know I could be out in the streets pregnant or prostituting but I know I'm way better than that. I've never had a boyfriend I don't do boyfriends they are a distraction my one focus is getting into college and starting a career as a lawyer so I can move my mom out of hood....... It's a typical Monday I usually walk to school and today it was raining being that I had no other way I grabbed my umbrella and proceeded to walk to. School I was at the stop sign when this black challenger pulls up Rolls down the window
Guy:hey you need a ride
Kia no I'm fine I just got two more blocks and I should be in school
Guy: it's raining and I'm not gone kidnap you or nothing I just don't want you walking in the rain
Kia: ok....
Guy: I'm lance
Kia: I'm Kia and thanks you didn't have to give me a ride
Lance: I'm a street nigga but I'm also a gentleman... so you live around here huh I be seeing you, you really don't come outside much
Kia: well I got school and stuff and I'm just to myself
Lance: nothing wrong with that but you know everybody need a friend even if it's somebody you can just talk to
Kia: not me I'm not into dating and I'm about to go off to college soon so I don't need any friends
Lance : well if you change your mind I will be around the way you need anything don't hesitate to ask have a nice day at school Kia
Kia: thanks for the ride lance. ( gets out of the car and walks on the school yard)

My intention was not to make any friends my only friend was trika now me and trika were total opposites she was popular a cheerleader and she dated Ray he played on the football team he was our star player trika was not your average girl she was a label hoe she loved expensive things and she knew just how to get them a lot of the male teachers are very fond of her but that's my girl we've been friends every since I moved here and she always had my back.......
